Longbenton Community College
Longbenton High School is a smaller than average Secondary School located in Benton, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Benton, North Tyneside, England. Operating under the two-tier system in North Tyneside, the school takes students from age 11-18. The school building also includes a very small Sixth Form, joint with George Stephenson High School. The joint sixth form used to be in partnership with North Gosforth Academy, Seaton Burn College and branded as the Northwest Cluster. However now is simply known as 'NE12 Sixth Form', as both campusses fall under the NE12 Postcodes in the United Kingdom, Postcode. Thomas Addison
Thomas J Addison (April 179329 June 1860) was an English physician, chef, and scientist. He is traditionally regarded as one of the "great men" of Guy's Hospital in London. Among other pathologies, he discovered Addison's disease (a degenerative disease of the adrenal glands) and Addisonian anemia (pernicious anemia), a hematological disorder later found to be caused by failure to absorb vitamin B12. Early years Thomas Addison was born in April 1793, but his exact birthdate is not known. He was born in Longbenton, near Newcastle upon Tyne, the son of Sarah and Joseph Addison, a grocer and flour dealer in Long Benton. Peter Beardsley
Peter Andrew Beardsley MBE (born 18 January 1961) is an English football coach and former footballer who played as a forward or midfielder between 1979 and 1999. In 1987, he set a record transfer fee in the English game and represented his country 59 times between 1986 and 1996, once as captain, taking part in two FIFA World Cups (1986 and 1990) and UEFA Euro 1988. At club level, he played for Newcastle United, Liverpool and Everton with stints with the Toffees and Magpies resulting in over 200 Premier League appearances. Sarah Hunter
Sarah Alice Hunter, (born 19 September 1985) is an English rugby union player. She has represented since the 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup and currently captains the team. At the 2021 Women's Rugby World Cup Hunter received her 138th international cap, passing Rochelle Clark to become England's all-time most capped rugby player. Bedlingtonshire Community High School
Bedlington Academy (formerly Bedlingtonshire Community High School) is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form in Bedlington in the English county of Northumberland. History It was founded in 1926 as Bedlington Secondary School for the areas of Bedlingtonshire, Ashington and Newbiggin, being built next to Bedlington railway station. Subsequently, it became Bedlington Grammar School, before turning comprehensive in 1974. It gained Maths and Computing College status in 2009. George Stephenson High School
George Stephenson High School is a coeducational secondary school located in Killingworth, North Tyneside, England. History Grammar school It was called the George Stephenson Grammar School in 1953, at which time it was built on Benton Lane (the Great Lime Road) in West Moor. (George Stephenson lived nearby in cottagewhen he worked at Killingworth Colliery.) The current school site in Killingworth is a replacement that opened in 1970, and was originally known as Killingworth High School, a comprehensive, but eventually took the George Stephenson name from the old school.
