Long Lake Township, Michigan
Long Lake Township, officially the Charter Township of Long Lake, is a charter township of Grand Traverse County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 9,956 at the 2020 census, an increase from 8,662 at the 2010 census. Long Lake Township is one of three charter townships in Grand Traverse County, the others being East Bay Township and neighboring Garfield Township. Long Lake, from which the township takes its name, is the largest lake entirely within Grand Traverse County. Much of Long Lake Township is suburban due to its proximity to Traverse City. History The Long Lake township area was initially settled in 1862 when Ira Chase and his brother-in-law Eliphalet Fillmore traveled from Whitewater township to Grand Traverse County to select land. The next few years saw the gradual influx of families who cleared forested areas to establish farms. Long Lake (Sharpe Township, Ontario)
Long Lake is a lake formed by the widening of the Englehart River in Timiskaming District of northeastern Ontario, Canada. It consists of several segments and was previously known as Kushog, Kindogami and Robillard Lakes. The lake is a long, narrow lake, about long, that runs generally in a straight line from the northwest to the southeast. It follows the Cross Lake Fault escarpment that forms the southwest boundary of the Lake Timiskaming Rift Valley. The small community of Zeta can be found on the northeast bank of the lake in Robillard Township. Mount MacDonald and Glenvale are also nearby communities. Long Lake (Lanark County)
Long Lake is a lake in eastern Ontario, Canada in the municipality of Tay Valley in Lanark County. The lake is nearly 3 km long and about 600m wide at its widest. Long Lake is fed by a number of small tributaries leading to intermittent lakes. It is drained by an unnamed creek leading to Adams Lake. Long Lake has five islands, the largest and only named one, being Farry Island. It is located in the east end of the lake and is uninhabited. It is about 400m long and 200m wide. It is a fairly steep island, rising about 20m above the level of the lake, its highest point being over 150m above sea level. The lake has a number of cottages lining the northern and southeastern shores. The nearest community is Stanleyville, 5 km west of the lake. Long Lake (Kearney, Nipissing District, Ontario)
Long Lake is a lake in the municipality of Kearney in the Almaguin Highlands region of Central Ontario, Canada. The lake is located in the part of Kearney located within the territorial district of Nipissing, but is however politically located in Parry Sound District. Geographically, Kearney spans both districts, but politically Kearney is located just in Parry Sound. The lake is about 1 km long and varies in width from about 300 m in the north to no more than 50 m in the south. The lake is fed by one unnamed creek, and drained by an unnamed creek in its south end which leads to Round Lake. The nearest community is Ravensworth, 10 km to the west.
