London Bridge Studio
London Bridge Studio is a recording studio near Seattle that has hosted and recorded many influential artists, producers and engineers since 1985. Founded by brothers Rick and Raj Parashar and now currently owned by producers Geoff Ott, Jonathan Plum, and Eric Lilavois. The space was designed by notable studio designer Geoff Turner (Little Mountain Studios, Pinewood Studios) and features of tall ceilings, hardwood floors, brick walls and live acoustics. Layout of the studio includes live rooms, a control room, overdub suites, and a lounge with full kitchen. History Seattle's surge to musical prominence in the late 1980s and 1990s stemmed largely in part from albums recorded at London Bridge Studio. Louder Than Love
''Louder Than Love'' is the second studio album and major-label debut by American rock band Soundgarden. It was released on September 5, 1989, by A&M Records. After touring in support of their debut album, '' Ultramega OK'' (1988), Soundgarden left SST, signed with A&M and began work on their first album for a major label. The songs on the album featured a metal-leaning grunge sound with some songs featuring unusual or unorthodox time signatures. Due to the nature of some of the lyrics (particularly "Big Dumb Sex"), a Parental Advisory sticker was placed on the album packaging. ''Louder Than Love'' would become the band's first album to chart on the ''Billboard'' 200, peaking at No. 108, and it was also the first grunge record to enter that chart. ''Candlebox'' is the debut album by Seattle rock band Candlebox. It contains their best known hit, " Far Behind", as well as the hit singles "Change", " You" and "Cover Me". Released in 1993, the album has since been certified 4× platinum in the United States. Promotion The music videos for "Change", "Far Behind" and "You" remained in longstanding rotation on MTV and the latter became two of the most requested videos of 1993, and the former being featured on ''Beavis and Butt-Head''. Other songs were recorded during the ''Candlebox'' sessions and included on other releases. "Can't Give In," for instance, appears on the ''Airheads'' film soundtrack. "Pull Away" also served as a B-side to the "You" CD single. Reception The album has received mixed reviews. Candlebox
Candlebox is an American rock band from Seattle, Washington. Since its formation in 1990, the group has released eight studio albums, several charting singles, a compilation, and a CD+DVD. Candlebox found immediate success with the release of its self-titled debut album in July 1993. ''Candlebox'' featured four singles: "Change", " You", " Far Behind" and "Cover Me". "Far Behind" reached the top 20, and the album was certified quadruple platinum by the RIAA. The band's next album, ''Lucy'' (1995), was certified gold, and was followed three years later by ''Happy Pills'' (1998). After troubles with its record company, Candlebox broke up in 2000. ''Dirt'' is the second studio album by American rock band Alice in Chains, released on September 29, 1992, by Columbia Records. It was the band's last album recorded with all four original members, as bassist Mike Starr was fired in January 1993 during the tour to support the album. The majority of the songs were written by guitarist Jerry Cantrell, but for the first time, vocalist Layne Staley wrote two songs by himself ("Hate to Feel" and "Angry Chair"), both also featuring Staley on guitar. ''Blind Melon'' is the debut studio album by American rock band Blind Melon, released on September 22, 1992, through Capitol Records. "No Rain" became Blind Melon's breakthrough single. Background In 1990, lead singer Shannon Hoon moved from Indiana to Los Angeles. Soon he met guitarist Rogers Stevens and bassist Brad Smith, both Mississippi natives who had come to Los Angeles a year earlier. They began playing together and then recruited a second guitarist, Christopher Thorn. The foursome then looked for a drummer in the local area, but months passed and their search was unsuccessful. Stevens and Smith eventually persuaded Glen Graham to come to Los Angeles and join the band. After Blind Melon recorded a four-song demo called ''The Goodfoot Workshop'', Capitol Records became interested and signed them in 1991 although they never released the band's demo as an EP. Blind Melon is an American rock band formed in 1990 in Los Angeles, California. The band consists of guitarists Rogers Stevens and Christopher Thorn, drummer Glen Graham, vocalist Travis Warren and bassist Nathan Towne. They are best known for their 1993 hit " No Rain", and enjoyed critical and commercial success in the early 1990s with their neo-psychedelic take on alternative rock. The band has sold over 3.2 million albums in the United States as of 2008. ''Sap'' is the second studio EP by the American rock band Alice in Chains, released on February 4, 1992, through Columbia Records. ''Sap'' is mostly acoustic and marks the first time that guitarist Jerry Cantrell sings lead vocals in an Alice in Chains release, with the song "Brother". ''Ten'' is the debut studio album by the American rock band Pearl Jam, released on August 27, 1991, through Epic Records. Following the dissolution of their previous band Mother Love Bone in 1990, bassist Jeff Ament and guitarist Stone Gossard began rehearsing with new guitarist Mike McCready. The group recorded a five-song instrumental demo tape that included contributions from Matt Cameron on drums. ''Uncle Anesthesia'' is the fifth studio album by the American band Screaming Trees. It was released in 1991 via Epic Records. It includes three of the four tracks from the band's previous Epic release, '' Something About Today''. "Bed of Roses" was released as a single and peaked at No. 23 on the Modern Rock charts. The band supported the album with a North American tour that included shows with Nirvana and Das Damen; Dan Peters played drums on much of the tour.
