Lockwood Railway Station
Lockwood railway station is a railway station in Huddersfield, England. It is situated south of Huddersfield station on the Penistone Line between Huddersfield and . It serves the Lockwood district of Huddersfield, and services are provided by Northern. The station comprises a single side platform alongside the single-line of the railway, although the remains of a second platform alongside the site of the former second track (removed in 1989) are still visible. To the south of the station, the line to Sheffield passes over the valley of the River Holme by an impressive long stone viaduct to Berry Brow. Below the high structure is the Huddersfield Rugby Union Club ground at Lockwood Park, which was formerly a Bass Brewery. Lockwood is an area of Huddersfield, in the Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees, West Yorkshire, England. It is to the southwest of Huddersfield Town Centre, to the west of the River Holme. History Lockwood was originally called ''North Crosland'' and part of the Crosland family estate. However, it was taken over by the Lockwood family after a series of disputes between the dynasties. Parts of the area are still known as North Crosland. Lockwood railway station is on the Penistone Line between Huddersfield and Sheffield. It is situated in Swan Lane, just before the Grade II-listed, 32-arched Lockwood Viaduct, which spans the valley and connects the line to Berry Brow. River Colne, West Yorkshire
The River Colne in West Yorkshire is formed at the confluence of two brooks that originate in the Pennines close to Marsden. It flows in an easterly direction through the Colne Valley and Huddersfield towards Cooper Bridge where it flows into the River Calder. Course Brooks formed by rainwater high (between 300 and 480 metres AMSL) in the Pennines of West Yorkshire, flow down the hillsides through the small valleys known locally as ''cloughs'' to fill March Haigh and Redbrook Reservoirs. The Haigh Brook and Redbrook continue down the valley fed by more tributaries, until they converge at a scenic spot called Close Gate Bridge where the River Colne is formed. Meltham Branch Line
The Meltham branch line is a disused railway line that ran for from Lockwood to Meltham, in West Yorkshire, England. The line was single track for its entire length. Berry Brow Railway Station
Berry Brow railway station serves the Huddersfield suburban villages of Berry Brow, Taylor Hill, Armitage Bridge and Newsome in the metropolitan borough of Kirklees in West Yorkshire. The present single-platform station was opened by British Rail in 1989. The Holme of the Holme Valley, West Yorkshire, England is a tributary of the River Colne, West Yorkshire. The source is via Digley Reservoir, fed firstly by the run-off from Brownhill Reservoir, then by Dobbs Dike.
