Lo Cheung-shiu
Lo Cheung-shiu (羅長肇, 1867–1934) was a prominent Hong Kong businessman and the founder of the Lo family, an influential family in Hong Kong. He is also George She's brother-in-law. Biography Lo Cheung-shiu is the first generation of Hong Kong Eurasian. His father was Thomas Rothwell, an English businessman, and his mother was a Chinese woman. In his early years, his mother had friends with He Dong and Ho Fook's mother is Ms. Shi, Huang Jinfu's mother is Ms. Wu, Xian Defen's mother is Ms. Huang, and Mai Xiuying's mother is Ms. Wu. The older sister Luo Ruicai (Luo Xucai) married Ho Fook, so the relationship became friends with Ho Tung, and the children had four in-law relationships with the Robert Ho Tung family. Lo was a compradore of Jardine, Matheson & Co., formerly one of the leading British mercantile firms in the Far East. He retired in 1920. Luo (surname)
Luo or Lo refers to the Mandarin romanizations of the Chinese surnames 羅 (Simplified Chinese: 罗, pinyin: Luó, Jyutping: Lo4) and 駱 (Simplified Chinese: 骆, pinyin: Luò, Jyutping: Lok3). Of the two surnames, wikt:罗 is much more common among Chinese people. According to the Cantonese pronunciation, it can also refer to 盧. In Cantonese, 罗/羅 is usually romanized as Lo and Law. Lo Man-wai
Lo Man-wai CBE (1895 – 5 April 1985) was a prominent lawyer and politician in Hong Kong who served as a member of the Executive Council and Legislative Council of Hong Kong. Biography Lo Man-wai was born in 1895 in Hong Kong. His father was the wealthy Hong Kong merchant and compradore of Jardine, Matheson & Co., Lo Cheung-shiu. His brother, Lo Man-kam, was also a prominent lawyer who served on the Executive and Legislative Councils of Hong Kong prior to the 1950s. Man-wai was educated at Queen's College. After graduating, he went to England to study law along with his brother. In 1916, they returned to Hong Kong and founded the law firm Lo and Lo. He had three sons and a daughter. His second son, Kenneth Lo Tak-cheung, later joined Lo and Lo and became a member of the Urban Council. The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Basic Law Drafting Committee (BLDC) was formed in June 1985 for the drafts of the Hong Kong Basic Law for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) after 1997. It was formed as a working group under the National People's Congress. The Drafting Committee had 59 members, of whom 23 were from Hong Kong and 36 were from Mainland, mostly the PRC government officials. The Drafting Committee was dominated by Hong Kong businessmen with a share from different social sectors.
