Laurence "Lloyd" Holder (born August 30, 1977) is a Bermudian soccer player who currently plays for the Bermuda Hogges in the USL Second Division. In the sport of association football, a defender is an outfield position whose primary role is to stop attacks during the game and prevent the opposition from scoring. Centre-backs are usually positioned in pairs, with one full-back on either side to their left and right, but can be played in threes with or without full-backs. Bermuda Hogges
Bermuda Hogges were a Bermudian football team based in Hamilton, Bermuda. Founded in 2006, the team played in the USL Premier Development League (PDL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, in the Mid Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. On 28 May 2013, the club announced it pulled out of the USL's Premier Development League due to financial difficulties. The team played its home games at the Bermuda Athletic Association Stadium in Pembroke, Bermuda. The team's colours were red, green and white. Devonshire Colts
Devonshire Colts FC is a football club based in Devonshire Parish, Bermuda and are in the Cingular Wireless Premier Division league. The team colours are orange and white. History The Devonshire Colts Football Club was established in 1958, due to the efforts of Mr. Edward DeJean and Mr. Braxton Burgess. These men were members of the Howard Academy, aka Skinners School, in Bermuda. DeJean was the principal while Burgess was a physical education teacher. Following their school level successes, the Howard Academy team moved on to participating in practice matches with local men's football teams which subsequently led to the application and entry into the Bermuda Football Union. The Devonshire Colts play on Police Field, where formerly police dogs were exercised. Dandy Town Hornets F.C. is a professional football club based in Pembroke Parish, Bermuda, that currently competes in the Bermudian Premier Division. Team colours are brown and gold. The club also has a ladies team and a strong youth section. The Bermuda national football team represents Bermuda in international football, and is controlled by the Bermuda Football Association, which is a member of the CONCACAF. History 1964–1992 Bermuda played their first international match on 10 August, 1964, against Iceland in Reykjavik, ending in a narrow victory to the Icelanders, 4–3. The Bermudian Premier Division (officially the Digicel Premier Division for sponsorship reasons) is the highest level of professional football in Bermuda. Teams in this league (currently ten) compete for the national title and theoretically can claim a spot in the CONCACAF Caribbean Club Shield, although there has not yet been a Bermudian entry. The Bermudian clubs who participated in CONCACAF Champions' Cup (the predecessor to the CONCACAF Champions League), qualified in the North American zone (when zone qualifiers were used), last appearing in 1992.
