Llandrindod Wells A.F.C.
Llandrindod Wells Football Club are an association football club based in the town of Llandrindod Wells, Powys, Wales. The club plays in the Ardal Leagues North East, tier three of the Welsh football pyramid. History Llandrindod Wells were formed in November 1883. On 24 April 2010, Llandrindod won the Emrys Morgan Cup by beating Montgomery 1–0. After enjoying a good 2010–11 season, the first team finished runners up in the Mid Wales League South, ending a point behind Builth Wells and were promoted to the Mid Wales Football League Division Two, at the time a newly created league. For the 2011–12 season saw Llandrindod placed fourth behind winners Aberaeron, with second placed Four Crosses also promoted to the Division One. Llanfair United placed 3rd. Llandrindod Wells (, ; cy, Llandrindod, /ɬanˈdɾindɔd/ "Trinity Parish"), sometimes known colloquially as Llandod, is a town and community in Powys, within the historic boundaries of Radnorshire, Wales. It serves as the seat of Powys County Council and thus the administrative centre of Powys. It was developed as a spa town in the 19th century, with a boom in the late 20th century as a centre of local government. Before the 1860s the site of the town was common land in Llanfihangel Cefnllys parish. Llandrindod Wells is the fifth largest town in Powys and the largest in Radnorshire. Ardal Leagues
The Ardal Leagues are a football league in Wales. The word "ardal" translates as "district" in English, with Wales split into four regions at this level. They have clubs with amateur/semi-professional status and sit at the third level of the Welsh football league system. The first year of their operation would have been 2020–21 but the 2020–21 Ardal North East season, 2020–21 Ardal North West season, 2020–21 Ardal South East season and 2020–21 Ardal South West season were all cancelled. The inaugural season was moved to 2021–22. The creation of the leagues mark the first time the Football Association of Wales owns and is administering tier 3 of the Welsh league system. The Central Wales Football League ''(formerly the Mid Wales Football League)'' is a football league in Wales at tier 4 of the Welsh Football pyramid, run by the Central Wales Football Association. The league consists of two regionally based divisions - a North Division and a South Division. The league offers a promotion route to the Football Association of Wales administered Tier 3 Ardal Leagues. Mid Wales South League
The Mid Wales South League is an association football league, currently consisting of five clubs, mainly from Mid Wales but some from just over the border in England. It is currently called the ''Watson Financial Mid Wales League (South)'' for sponsorship reasons. The founder members of the league were Brecon St John's, Felindre, Llandrindod Wells, Llanwrthwl, Llanwrtyd, Presteigne St. Andrew's, Rhayader Town and Whitton. Felindre were the first league champions. The league lies in the fifth level of the Welsh football league system. Teams may be promoted to the Mid Wales Football League if standards and facilities fall into line with the regulations of the Mid Wales League. Carl Robinson (born 13 October 1976) is a retired Welsh international footballer who played as a central midfielder. He is currently the assistant coach for Major League Soccer club D.C. United. Club career Wolverhampton Wanderers Robinson started his career as a trainee with Wolverhampton Wanderers. He was promoted to the first-team for the 1995–96 season. Loan to Shrewsbury Town On 28 March 1996, Robinson was sent on loan to Shrewsbury Town for the remainder of the season to gain first-team experience.
