Ljiljana Aranđelović (Serbian Cyrillic: Љиљана Аранђеловић) (born February 16, 1963) is a Serbian politician and former presidential candidate in the 2004 Serbian presidential election. She is a journalist and she has been an editor of many newspapers and RTV Ćuprija. Serbian Cyrillic
The Serbian Cyrillic alphabet ( sr, / , ) is a variation of the Cyrillic script used to write the Serbian language, updated in 1818 by Serbian linguist Vuk Karadžić. It is one of the two alphabets used to write standard modern Serbian, the other being Gaj's Latin alphabet. Karadžić based his alphabet on the previous Slavonic-Serbian script, following the principle of "write as you speak and read as it is written", removing obsolete letters and letters representing iotified vowels, introducing from the Latin alphabet instead, and adding several consonant letters for sounds specific to Serbian phonology. During the same period, linguists led by Ljudevit Gaj adapted the Latin alphabet, in use in western South Slavic areas, using the same principles. Presidential elections were held in the Republic of Serbia on Sunday, 13 June 2004. As no candidate received a majority of the vote, a second round was held on Sunday, 27 June. Ćuprija
Ćuprija (Serbian Cyrillic: Ћуприја, ) is a town and municipality located in the Pomoravlje District of central Serbia. The population of the town is 19,380, while the municipality has 30,645 inhabitants. History The Romans founded the town as a fort Horreum Margi (Horreum: ''Granary'', Margi: '' Morava'') on the road from Constantinople to Rome, where it crosses the river now known as Velika Morava. It served as a Roman military base, had a shield factory and gained the status of ''municipium'' before AD 224. In 505, the Romans were defeated by Goths and Huns under Mundo, a descendant of Attila the Hun. Under Slavic rule, it became known as Ravno (literal translation to English would be "flat"), since it is in a flat river valley. United Serbia ( sr, Јединствена Србија, Jedinstvena Srbija, JS) is a national-conservative political party in Serbia.
