Liza Harvey
Liza Mary Harvey (née Browne; born 25 October 1966) is an Australian politician who was the Liberal Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 2008 to 2021, representing the seat of Scarborough. She was a minister in the government of Colin Barnett, and in 2016 was appointed deputy premier, becoming the first woman to hold the position. She became leader of the opposition after being elected unopposed to replace Mike Nahan as state Liberal leader on 13 June 2019. On 22 November 2020, she resigned as Liberal leader and was replaced by Zak Kirkup. She lost her seat at the 2021 election. In the Australian state of Western Australia, the Leader of the Opposition is the leader of the largest minority political party or coalition of parties in the Legislative Assembly of the Parliament of Western Australia. By convention, the leader is generally a member of the Legislative Assembly. Minister for Women's Interests is a position in the government of Western Australia, currently held by Sue Ellery of the Labor Party. The position was first created after the 1983 state election, for the government of Brian Burke, and has existed in every government since then. Until 1992, the position was always held by the premier (male or female), who appointed an assistant minister to administer the portfolio. Manjimup, Western Australia
Manjimup is a town in Western Australia, south of the state capital, Perth. The town of Manjimup is a regional centre for the largest shire in the South West region of Western Australia. At the 2016 census, Manjimup had a population of 4,349. History Manjimup was named after the Noongar words "Manjin" (a broad-leafed edible reed) and " up" (meeting place, or place of). Manjimup was first settled by timber cutter Thomas Muir, who took up land near the present town site in 1856. It was declared a town in 1910, and a railway from Perth was completed in 1911. The population expanded when Manjimup became part of the post-World War I Group Settlement Scheme. Suzanne Mary Ellery (born 12 May 1962) is an Australian politician who has been a Labor Party member of the Legislative Council of Western Australia since 2001, representing South Metropolitan Region. She is the current Minister for Finance, Minister for Commerce, and Minister for Women's Interests in the McGowan government, having previously served as a minister in the government of Alan Carpenter from 2007 to 2008. Minister for Training and Workforce Development is a position in the government of Western Australia, currently held by Simone McGurk of the Labor party. The position was first created after the 1933 state election, for the government of Philip Collier, but was abolished in 1943 and not re-created until 1982. It had been a distinct portfolio in most governments since then, albeit under several different names. The minister was responsible for the state government's Department of Training and Workforce Development (DTWD). Following the WA State Election in 2017, the portfolio no longer exists. Joseph Michael Francis (born 11 December 1970) is a former Australian politician who was a Liberal Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 2008 to 2017, representing the seat of Jandakot.
