Liz Sarian
Liz Sarian ( hy, Լիզ Սարյան) is a French Armenian singer. Biography Sarian was born in a family of Armenian genocide survivors. She started to sing in childhood after she listened to Armenian songs sung by her mother. Some of Sarian's releases including "On s'aime" became bestsellers in Western Europe. She also took part at MIDEM 1967 in Cannes. Sarian's first concert in Yerevan took place in 1984 in Karen Demirchyan Complex. She is also known for joint concerts with Aida Garvarentz and Seda Aznavour. Armenian Genocide
The Armenian genocide was the systematic destruction of the Armenians in the Ottoman Empire, Armenian people and identity in the Ottoman Empire during World War I. Spearheaded by the ruling Committee of Union and Progress (CUP), it was implemented primarily through the mass murder of around one million Armenians during death marches to the Syrian Desert and the Forced conversion, forced Islamization of Armenian women and children. Midem is the acronym for Marché International du Disque et de l'Édition Musicale, which is organised annually in and around the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, France. Karen Demirchyan Complex
Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex (Armenian: ), also known as Demirchyan Arena, Sports & Music Complex, or simply Hamalir (for complex in Armenian), is a large multi-purpose sports and concert complex with 184 stairs leading up Tsitsernakaberd hill which dominates over the western parts of Yerevan, near the Hrazdan River gorge. The complex consists of two main halls; the Concerts hall and the Sports hall, in addition to the large foyer, ''Hayastan'' conference hall and ''Argishti'' hall designated for diplomatic meetings, exhibitions and other events. Seda Aznavour
Seda "Patricia" Aznavour (born Seda Aznavourian, hy, Սեդա Ազնավուրյան, link=no, ; May 21, 1947) is a French-Armenian singer and artist, the daughter of Charles Aznavour. She studied at the Armenian Virgins College of Paris, at Jan-Luciere and Matie Alter musical schools. She started her musical career in the 1960s, as a radio and TV singer, then released "Rien Que Nous" album (with ''David Alexandre Winter''). She recorded the "Safo" (1970) movie songtrack (written by Georges Garvarentz), played in several French films. Gyumri
Gyumri ( hy, Գյումրի, ) is an urban municipal community and the second-largest city in Armenia, serving as the administrative center of Shirak Province in the northwestern part of the country. Charles Aznavour
Charles Aznavour ( , ; born Shahnour Vaghinag Aznavourian, hy, Շահնուր Վաղինակ Ազնավուրեան, ; 22 May 1924 – 1 October 2018) was a French-Armenian singer, lyricist, actor and diplomat.
