Liwayway Vinzons-Chato
Liwayway Vinzons-Chato (born December 31, 1945) is a Filipino politician. A member of the Liberal Party, she was elected as a Member of the House of Representatives, representing the Lone District of Camarines Norte from 2007 to 2010. A graduate of the University of the Philippines College of Law, Vinzons-Chato served as Commissioner of the Bureau of Internal Revenue during the administration of President Fidel Ramos. In 2001, she was an unsuccessful candidate for election to the Philippine Senate under Reporma-LM and the banner of the People Power Coalition allied with President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. In 2007, she ran for representative for Camarines Norte and won. The 2007 Philippine House of Representatives elections were held on May 14, 2007, to elect members to the House of Representatives of the Philippines to serve in the 14th Congress of the Philippines from June 30, 2007, until June 30, 2010. The Bicolano people or the Bikolanos ( Bikol: ''Mga Bikolnon'') are the fourth-largest Filipino ethnolinguistic group. Males are usually referred to as ''Bicolano'', and ''Bicolana'' is used for females. Their native region is commonly referred to as Bicolandia, which comprises the entirety of the Bicol Peninsula and neighboring minor islands, all in the southeast portion of Luzon. They are largely an agricultural and rural people, producing rice, coconuts, hemp and spices. The great majority of them are Christians, with small but significant Protestant and Muslim minorities. The legislative districts of Camarines Norte are the representations of the province of Camarines Norte in the various national legislatures of the Philippines. The province is currently represented in the lower house of the Congress of the Philippines through its first and second congressional districts. History Camarines Norte was represented as part of Ambos Camarines, particularly the at-large district in the Malolos Congress from 1898 to 1899 and the first and second districts beginning in 1907, prior to being granted its own representation, after the division of Ambos Camarines in 1919 into Norte and Sur.
