''Live in Tokyo 25th November 2005'' is a 2005 (see 2005 in music) album by Underworld. It is a recording of Underworld's live performance at the Electraglide festival in Tokyo on 25 November 2005. This limited edition 3-CD set was originally available to order only at the 2005 Electraglide shows in Tokyo and Osaka. It was shipped a few weeks later to attendees who ordered them at the show. After fulfilling the Electraglide attendee orders, Underworld sold the remainder of the stock directly to dirty.org (now borndirty.org) members via semi-private eBay auctions. There were apparently only 7000 copies of the album made. Underworld (band)
Underworld are a British electronic music group formed in 1987 in Cardiff, Wales and the principal collaborative project of Karl Hyde and Rick Smith. Prominent former members include Darren Emerson, from 1991 to 2001, and Darren Price, as part of the live band from 2005 to 2016. Makuhari Messe
is a Japanese convention center outside Tokyo, located in the Mihama-ku ward of Chiba City, in the northwest corner of Chiba Prefecture. Designed by Fumihiko Maki, it is accessible by Tokyo's commuter rail system. ''Makuhari'' is the name of the area, and Messe is a German language word meaning "trade fair". The convention center opened on October 9, 1989. It hosts many high-technology events. Makuhari Messe is close to Tokyo Disney Resort in Urayasu, and to Chiba prefecture's black sand beaches. Electronica is both a broad group of electronic-based music styles intended for listening rather than strictly for dancing and a music scene that started in the early 1990s in the United Kingdom. Rick Smith (Underworld)
Richard Smith (born 25 May 1959) is a Welsh musician and composer. He is a founding member of British electronic music group Underworld and an acclaimed composer, having collaborated extensively with director Danny Boyle, most notably as the musical director for the London 2012 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony, alongside Underworld's Karl Hyde. He is also a founding member of the multi-discipline design and film collective Tomato. Career Smith left a bank clerk job in Llanelli to do an electronic and electrical engineering degree; however, he dropped out during his finals after being asked to join Hyde’s band The Screen Gemz. In 1983 they formed Freur and recorded two albums for CBS Records International. The group disbanded in 1986. In 1987 Smith and Hyde formed Underworld, and the pair are the longest and only original serving members of the musical project, still performing together today. ''Riverrun'' is the musical project by the British electronic music group Underworld, released between and , exclusively on the band's official website, as a series of three internet-only EPs, and as limited 12" vinyl releases. Background While touring the album ''A Hundred Days Off'' in 2003 through Australia and the Middle East, and nearing the end of the record contract, Hyde and Smith decided to take a more independent approach to recording and releasing music. ''Oblivion with Bells'' is the seventh studio album from Underworld, released on in Japan, in the EU and in the US. Due to the success of lead single "Crocodile" and the use of "To Heal" as a central theme in the film ''Sunshine'', ''Oblivion with Bells'' has sold over 93,000 copies worldwide, as of 23 May 2008. Critical reception ''Oblivion with Bells'' received mostly positive reviews from most music critics. The album has a score of 64/100 on Metacritic based on 24 reviews. Allmusic gave the album 3 out of 5 stars saying "The acid techno is firmly in place, with little or no regard for developments in the form after the '80s. Still, unlike other electronica mainstays who have occasionally revealed a little weariness -- either from trying to change or trying to stay the same -- Underworld never sound particularly tired on Oblivion with Bells". The Harley-Davidson FL is a model designation used on Harley-Davidson motorcycles since 1941. The FL prefix is mostly applied to Harley-Davidson's large-framed bikes, including the current Touring series, and also the Softail series, especially those with traditional styling, 16-inch front wheels, and either Springer forks or large-diameter telescopic front forks.
