"Live in Life" is a song by Australian alternative rock group The Rubens. The song was released on 14 November 2019 as the lead single from the group's fourth studio album, ''0202'' (2021). The song has peaked at number 21 on the ARIA Charts. The Ruben's Sam Margin explained the meaning of the song during its premiere on Triple J: "I see it as this guy who has messed up and lost someone in his life, and he's telling himself 'No, this is fine. Change is fine, I'm ok with this'. But then realising he's not ok and trying to rectify things but realises it's too late." The Rubens
The Rubens are an Australian alternative rock band from Menangle, New South Wales. The band comprises the three Margin brothers, Zaac, Sam and Elliott, and friends Scott Baldwin and William Zeglis. Their debut self-titled album ''The Rubens'' gained them domestic success with it reaching number 3 on the ARIA Charts and being nominated for a J Award for Album of the Year. The APRA Music Awards of 2021 are the 39th annual series, known as APRA Awards. The awards are given in a series of categories in three divisions and in separate ceremonies throughout the year: the APRA Music Awards, Art Music Awards and Screen Music Awards. Annika Schmarsel (born 8 July 1993) known by her stage name Alice Ivy, is an Australian electronic musician and producer. Alice Ivy was the winner of the 2016 Triple J Unearthed Listen Out competition. She has released two studio albums: '' I'm Dreaming'' (2018), and ''Don't Sleep'' (2020), which reached No. 77 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Early life Annika Schmarsel was born in 1993 to West German immigrants who settled in Geelong in 1987. Annika also has a younger brother. ''0202'' is the fourth studio album by Australian alternative rock group the Rubens, released on 12 February 2021 by Ivy League Records. The album was announced on 15 October 2020, alongside the release of the video for the album's third single, "Time of My Life". After releasing "Live in Life" in November 2019, the group were looking towards a release date of mid-2020 for the album, however, due to COVID-19 restrictions, progress and the postponed Live in Life Tour from March 2020, the album was delayed. The title ''0202'' refers to a "forward-thinking album for a backward year". In a press statement, the band said "We're so bloody proud of this album and the way we created it, and we can't believe how lucky we are to have made it this far."
