''Live from the Sun'' is a live album released in 2000 by the American heavy metal band Dokken. The album captures the reunited Dokken, minus guitarist George Lynch, at the Sun Theater in Anaheim, CA on November 4, 1999, running through a live set of some of their greatest hits, including two songs from the then-recently released ''Erase the Slate'' album. A video of the performance was also released both on VHS and DVD formats. Philip Raphael “Phil” Soussan (born 23 June 1961, London, England) is a British bass guitarist, songwriter and producer who has gained notoriety as a member of a host of famed rock and roll bands, including some who have been frontman, fronted by such vocalists as Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Idol, Vince Neil, Johnny Hallyday and John Waite, as well as a membership in Beggars & Thieves. Michael J. Brown (born September 8, 1956), a.k.a. "Wild" Mick Brown, is an American drummer who has played in the rock bands Dokken, Ted Nugent, Lynch Mob, and Xciter. Early life Brown was born in San Mateo County, California, on September 8, 1956, and began playing drums at age eight when on his birthday he took his first drum lesson from Mickey Hart (who three years later joined The Grateful Dead). Career Dokken Brown joined Dokken in 1981. He replaced Gary Holland, who left Dokken to join Dante Fox and later Great White. Before that, Brown played drums in The Boyz (1975–1977) and then in Xciter (1977–1981). Both bands also featured future Dokken bandmate George Lynch. He sang vocals on the track " Tooth and Nail" on Dokken's live acoustic album ''One Live Night'', released in 1995 Apart from Don Dokken, Brown is the only person to appear on every Dokken album. Jeffrey Steven Pilson (born January 19, 1959) is an American musician best known for being the bass player in the glam metal band Dokken and currently classic rock band Foreigner. He has also had an extended stint with Dio in the 1990s. He is a multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar, cello, keyboards, piano and mellotron. Pilson played fictional heavy metal bassist Jörgen in the 2001 film '' Rock Star'', and voiced Johnny Cage in the 2011 video game ''Mortal Kombat''. Richard Earl "Reb" Beach Jr. (born August 31, 1963) is an American rock guitarist. He is a member of the bands Winger and Whitesnake. Career After graduating from Fox Chapel Area High School and attending Berklee College of Music in the early 1980s, he played in Fiona's backing band and became an accomplished studio musician, working with the likes of Howard Jones, Chaka Khan, The Bee Gees, Twisted Sister, and Roger Daltrey, among others, showcasing Beach's ability to adapt to various musical styles. "Alone Again" is a power ballad written and released by the American heavy metal band Dokken on their 1984 album '' Tooth and Nail''. The single reached #64 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and #20 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart in 1985. The song was written by singer Don Dokken and bassist Jeff Pilson. Composition Don Dokken wrote the song in 1975 or 1976, when he was 22 or 23, recorded it on a cassette, and it stayed in a closet for nearly a decade. During the recording of '' Tooth and Nail'', many other glam metal bands at the time were releasing ballads, so Elektra Records told Dokken they needed a ballad.
