Liv Bredal
Liv Helen Bredal (February 14, 1919 – November 25, 2011) was a Norwegian film actress from Stavanger. Family Liv Bredal was born in Stavanger as the daughter of Olav M. Bredal (1896–1956) and Gunvor Kjeldsrud-Knudsen (1898–1940). She married the puppeteer Ivo Caprino in 1942, and she converted to Catholicism. She was the mother of the film directors Remo Caprino and Ivonne Caprino. She died in Bærum in 2011. Career Bredal appeared in four films altogether. She made her debut in 1941 in Alfred Maurstad's ''Hansen og Hansen'', in which she played the lead role of Miss Nord, followed by a role in Rasmus Breistein's ''Gullfjellet''. In 1942, she played a supporting role in Alfred Maurstad's '' En herre med bart''. In 1944, Leif Juster offered her a position at the Edderkoppen Theater, but she declined it due to the distance from her home. Her final film performance was in the 1949 short ''I gode hender''. Stavanger (, , American English, US usually , ) is a city and municipalities of Norway, municipality in Norway. Rasmus Breistein
Rasmus Breistein (November 16, 1890 – October 16, 1976) was a Norwegian film director.Sundholm, John et al. ''Historical Dictionary of Scandinavian Cinema''. Lanham, MD: The Scarecrow Press, p. 88. Life Breistein was born in Åsane in the city of Bergen in Hordaland county, Norway. He was a farmer's son and learned to play fiddle in his youth, playing for dances at weddings in Western Norway. Later in life, in addition to directing films, he also performed on the Hardanger fiddle. When the Norwegian Theater opened in 1913, he started acting at the theater. He became engaged with the new medium of film after seeing Peter Lykke-Seest's productions, and he decided to produce films in a completely different way. His first film was ''Fante-Anne'' (Gypsy Anne, 1920). In an interview he stated that "the film was the beginning of something, a Norwegian production with a more national character." Edderkoppen Theatre
The Edderkoppen Theatre is a theatre located at St Olavs Plass in Oslo, Norway. The theatre is known for varied entertainment, ranging from comedy to musical shows. From 1967 to 2003 it was called the ABC theatre. Since 2016, it has been known as Edderkoppen Scene. History The theatre premiered on 3 September 1942 at a different venue. It turned out that the theater auditorium was too small, and in 1945 moved to St. Olav's place. Einar Schanke (1927–1992) took over as theatre director and theatrical producer in 1967, and the theater changed its name to the ABC theater. The theater, however, retained its traditions under Schanke's management. In 1992 Schanke died, and Tom Sterri, Ketil Aamodt and Anders Moland took over. In 1999 the theatre was destroyed by a powerful explosion. A real estate company that owned a nearby hotel purchased the property. Leif Juster
Leif Juster (born Leif Normann Nilsen) (14 February 1910 – 25 November 1995) was a Norwegian comedian, singer and actor, arguably the most popular of his generation in Norway. Juster started out as a variety show performer, and for a period he ran the theater ''Edderkoppen''. Characterised by his unusually tall, lanky figure and squeeky voice, his signature act was the monologue "''Mot normalt''". ''Gullfjellet'' (Gold Mountain) is a Norwegian film from 1941 based on ''Guldfjeldet'', a comedy by Ove Ansteinsson about farmers tempted to invest all their money in a gold bonanza. The film was directed by Rasmus Breistein and Titus Vibe-Müller. Plot The city boy Rolf Rønne arrives at Benningstad, a large farm in Hedemark, and gets to work. He meets Jørgen Krullerstugun and lies that he has found gold at Kråkberget, which is on Hans Benningstad's property. Jørgen makes his own investigations at Kråkberget and finds mica and mistakes it for gold. At night, he brings home large quantities of the stone and fills his living room and bedrooms. As rumors spread, purchasing bids start pouring in. The landowner does not want to sell, but he gives up when the gold find is announced in the newspapers. ''Hansen og Hansen'' (Hansen and Hansen) is a Norwegian film from 1941. It was directed by Alfred Maurstad. The main roles were played by Liv Bredal and Carsten Winger. The film is based on Finn Bø's play ''Konge for en natt'' (King for One Night), which had been staged at the New Theater. A competition was held for the best theme song for the film. Three hundred manuscripts were submitted, and Jens Larsen from Stavanger won. Finn Bø then wrote the lyrics and title for the melody. The film was a great success at the cinema in 1941. Plot Carsten Winger stars as a young unknown man named Hansen that ends up in a boarding house in the western part of Oslo on the same day that another man named Hansen ( Axel Kielland), a real charmer, is expected. Alfred Maurstad
Alfred Jentoft Maurstad (26 July 1896 – 5 September 1967) was a Norwegian actor, movie director and theatre manager. Biography Alfred Jentoft Maurstad was born at Bryggja in Davik (now Vågsøy) in Sogn og Fjordane, Norway. He was the son of Brynnel Maurstad (1859–1943) and Lovise Marie Brølos (1867–1943). Maurstad attended a military academy in Bergen (''Bergenske Brigades Underoffiserskole''). During his teenage years he performed in several concerts in the district of Nordfjord, playing on his Hardanger fiddle. He moved to Kristiania and debuted in 1921 at Det Norske Teatret. He began working at the Nationaltheatret in 1930. He was the theatre manager at Trøndelag Theater from 1945 to 1950.
