Liv is a Nordic female given name derived from the Old Norse "hlíf", which means "shelter" or "protection". In modern Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish it is also homophonous with the word "liv" meaning "life". Old Norse
Old Norse, Old Nordic, or Old Scandinavian, is a stage of development of North Germanic languages, North Germanic dialects before their final divergence into separate Nordic languages. Liv Stubberud
Liv Stubberud (29 May 1930, in Rakkestad – 16 September 1997) was a Norwegian politician in the Labour Party. She was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Østfold in 1973 and was re-elected on three occasions. She had previously served as a deputy representative during the terms 1965–1969 and 1969–1973. Liv Signe Navarsete (born 23 October 1958 in Sogndal) is a Norwegian politician from the Centre Party. She has served as county governor of Vestland county since 2022.
