Liu Kang (16 February 1961 – 29 March 2013, aged 52) was a Chinese football player and coach. Playing career Liu played senior football for his home team Guangzhou in his whole career. Management career He became a football coach after his retirement in 1990. He mainly served two football clubs in Guangzhou (Guangzhou Matsunichi and Guangzhou F.C.) in his manager career. Xiamen Blue Lions Football Club () is a defunct Chinese football club, which was located in Xiamen, Fujian. It was founded in the 1996 league season and their nickname was the "Blue Lions" while they played in the Xiamen Stadium. Throughout their history they would twice win promotion to the top tier of Chinese football and also play in the Chinese Super League. When the club was relegated at the end of 2007 league season they disbanded.
