Liu Fulian
Liu Fulian (; born August 1952) is a retired general ('' shangjiang'') of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA). He served as Political Commissar of People's Liberation Army Strategic Support Force. Biography Liu was born in Lai'an County, Anhui province. He joined the People's Liberation Army in 1970, and began work as a clerk. He rose through the ranks serving in mostly political roles, such as political liaison, political instructor, and did not have any known combat experience. In December 2003, Liu became the head of the political department of the 27th Group Army. In December 2006, he was promoted to Political Commissar of the Beijing Garrison. In 2008, he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant general. In December 2009, he was named Political Commissar of the Beijing Military Region. The People's Liberation Army (PLA) is the principal military force of the People's Republic of China and the armed wing of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The PLA consists of five service branches: the Ground Force, Navy, Air Force, Rocket Force, and Strategic Support Force. It is under the leadership of the Central Military Commission (CMC) with its chairman as commander-in-chief. The 18th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party was elected by the 18th National Congress on 15 November 2012, and sat in plenary sessions until the communing of the 19th National Congress in 2017. It was formally proceeded by the 17th Central Committee. The committee is composed of full members and alternate members. A member has voting rights, while an alternate does not. If a full member is removed from the CC the vacancy is then filled by an alternate member at the next committee plenum — the alternate member who received the most confirmation votes in favour is highest on the order of precedence. 27th Group Army
The 27th Group Army was a military formation of the People's Republic of China's People's Liberation Army and one of three active group armies belonging to the Beijing Military Region between 1949 and 2017. It was based in Shijiazhuang, Hebei. By 2013, the army included the 80th, 82nd, 188th, and 235th Mechanized Infantry Brigades, and the 7th Armored Brigade, plus the 12th Artillery and an AAA brigade. Chinese Civil War The 27th Group Army traces its lineage to World War II as part of the 8th Route Army. Sometime following the end of the war the unit was reassigned, redesignated and reorganized as the 9th Column of the Eastern China Field Army. (; ja, 将, Shō; ) is the rank held by general officers in some East Asian militaries. The ranks are used in both the People's Republic of China and the Republic of China on Taiwan. The People's Liberation Army and the People's Armed Police use three levels at present while the Republic of China Armed Forces use four. In both North and South Korea the rank is also used. Chinese variant People's Liberation Army The same rank names are used for all services, prefixed by ''haijun'' () or ''kongjun'' (). Zheng Weiping (; born July 1955) is a general ('' shangjiang'') of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China. He was Political Commissar of the Strategic Support Force between 2017 and 2020. He previously served as Political Commissar of the Nanjing Military Region (2012–2016) and Political Commissar of the Eastern Theater Command (2016–2017).
