Little Child (Eurovision Song)
Malta continued their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest, entering the Eurovision Song Contest 1992 in Malmö, Sweden. The Maltese entry was Mary Spiteri with the song "Little Child", which came third at Eurovision, receiving 123 points. Before Eurovision Malta Song for Europe 1992 The Maltese broadcaster, Public Broadcasting Services, Public Broadcasting Services (PBS), held a national final, Malta Song for Europe 1992, to select their entry for Malta. The contest was held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta on 14 March, hosted by Charles Saliba and Anna Bonanno. Ten songs competed, sung in both Maltese language, Maltese and English language, English. The winner was decided through an expert jury, with only the top three songs announced. The winner was "Little Child" ("Tfajjel Ckejken"), sung by Mary Spiteri and composed by Georgina Abela and Raymond Mahoney. Mary Spiteri
Mary Spiteri (born 25 October 1947) is a Maltese singer and television personality from Naxxar. She has participated in various national and international music festivals, one of which she came third when representing Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest. She is known for her support for the Labour Party (Malta), Labour Party in her home country. Eurovision and later Spiteri represented Malta in the 1992 Eurovision Song Contest held in Malmö, Sweden, with the song "Little Child (Eurovision song), Little Child". Spiteri finished in third place behind Ireland and the United Kingdom. But 1992 was not Spiteri's first attempt at Eurovision. In 1971, she participated in the Maltese heat of Eurovision with the song "Min Int?" (Who Are You?). Another attempt was made in 1975 when Spiteri performed two songs in the Maltese final, "Live For Tomorrow" and "Try a Little Love Today".
