Little Brown Jugette
The Little Brown Jugette is an American harness racing event for three-year-old fillies run annually since 1971 at the Delaware County Fairgrounds racetrack in Delaware, Ohio. It is the counterpart to the Little Brown Jug for colts. History In the 2003 race, Numeric Hanover won as a result of the disqualification for interference of Odds On Charmaine, who had finished first but set back to fifth. Call Me Queen Be won the first heat of the 2016 Jugette in a world record time for three-year-old pacing fillies. Hall of Fame driver John Campbell guided L A Delight to a win in the second heat to earn the overall Jugette title and in so doing broke his own record for most wins with his fifth Jugette. David Miller (born December 10, 1964) is an American harness racing driver and trainer. Miller is one of North America's most successful drivers and was elected in the Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame in 2014. Among horses he has driven is Always B Miki, Magician, No Pan Intended, Won The West, Poof She's Gone and Gimpanzee. Career David Miller was born December 10, 1964 in Columbus, Ohio. He grew up in Reynoldsburg, Ohio in a harness racing family - his father, grandfather, uncle, nephew and cousin were all drivers. Miller saw his first Little Brown Jug when he was 12 years old. Gene Riegle
Grant E. "Gene" Riegle (June 3, 1928 – October 17, 2011) was an American harness racing driver and trainer. He was inducted into the Harness Racing Hall of Fame in 1992. Riegle started his harness racing career in 1950. His father, Roy Riegle, was also a driver and trainer. Roy Riegle and his wife were killed in a 1957 auto accident. At the 1972 Little Brown Jug, Riegle drove Jay Time who was the odds on favorite before the race. Jay Time, who finished in a dead heat with Strike Out one month earlier in the Adios Pace, was scratched after the first heat due to a high temperature. During the 1981 Woodrow Wilson Pace held at Meadowlands Raceway, Riegle was thrown from his sulky while driving Andre Hanover in the process of trying to avoid a fallen horse. Michel Lachance (harness Racing)
Michel "Mike" Lachance (born December 16, 1950 in St. Augustin, Quebec) is a retired harness racing driver. Widely recognized as among the best drivers of all time, his outstanding career began in 1967 in Quebec City. At retirement, he had won 10,253 races and purses totalling $187,710,149. He has been inducted into both the United States and Canadian Harness Racing Halls of Fame. Keith Waples
Keith Gordon Waples (December 8, 1923 – May 7, 2021) was a Canadian Hall of Fame sulky driver and horse trainer in the sport of harness racing. In 1959, Waples became the first driver to record a sub two-minute mile in Canada and the first to win a $100,000 race in Canada. In 1962, Keith Waples drove Tie Silk to victory in the International Trot at Roosevelt Raceway and in 1972 with the colt Strike Out he won the Little Brown Jug, the Adios Pace and Prix d'Été.
