Lithuanian Tennis Association
The Lithuanian Tennis Union (Lietuvos Teniso Sąjunga) is the national governing body for the sport of tennis in Lithuania. LTS was created to standardize rules and regulations and to promote and develop the growth of tennis in Lithuania. The LTS includes 173 players including world number 77 Ričardas Berankis and has 47 coaches. The current president is Ramūnas Grušas. A sports governing body is a sports organization that has a regulatory or sanctioning function. Sports governing bodies come in various forms and have a variety of regulatory functions. Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. Ričardas Berankis
Ričardas Berankis (; born June 21, 1990) is a Lithuanian professional tennis player. He is the first and only Lithuanian citizen (not counting Lithuanian American Vitas Gerulaitis) to enter the ATP top 50 rankings, making him the highest ranked Lithuanian tennis player of all time. Berankis has reached two finals on the ATP World Tour, at the Los Angeles Open in 2012 and Kremlin Cup in 2017. He is also a prominent member of the Lithuania Davis Cup team.
