Frank White (North Dakota Politician)
Frank White (December 12, 1856March 23, 1940) was the eighth Governor of North Dakota from 1901 to 1905. He was a Republican who also served as Treasurer of the United States from 1921 to 1928. Family Colonel Frank White was born on December 12, 1856, in Stillman Valley, Illinois, to Joshua and Lucy Ann (Brown) White. His father, Joshua, served in the first Wisconsin Constitutional Convention of 1846 and in the Illinois House of Representatives. Education and career White received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1880. Theron Strinden (May 26, 1919 – March 3, 2011) was an American politician and businessman from North Dakota. Born in Litchville, North Dakota, Strinden went to college and then served in the United States Army during World War II. After the war, he returned to Litchville to work in his family's hardware and farm implement business. Earl Strinden (November 28, 1931 – October 18, 2022) was an American Republican politician in the state of North Dakota and president of the University of North Dakota Alumni Association, serving from 1974 until his retirement in 2000. Litchville-Marion School District No. 46 is a school district headquartered in Marion, North Dakota. It has an elementary school in Litchville and a secondary school in Marion. In the 1993–1994 school year the Litchville and Marion school districts decided to do a trial where the two districts had all elementary students in Litchville and all secondary students in Marion.
