This list of tallest buildings in different cities in India enumerates the tallest buildings of every big city in India based on official height, This includes spires and architectural details but does not include antenna masts. There are currently more than 200 skyscrapers in India and most of them are in Mumbai, New Delhi (with the NCR; Gurgaon and Noida) and Kolkata. The era of skyscrapers in India began with the completion of the LIC Building in Chennai in 1959. With 12 floors initially, it was the first high-rise building in the country. Currently, ''Palais Royale'', located in Mumbai is the tallest under construction (topped out) skyscraper in the country, with a height of 320 metres (1,050 ft) with 88 floors. World One
World One is a , 76 floor skyscraper in Mumbai, India. As of 2022, it is the tallest completed building in India, though the currently under construction Piramal Aranya Arav at and the topped out Palais Royale at are both taller. It is on the site of the defunct Shrinivas Mill. The site also houses two other towers: World View and World Crest. The complex was developed by the Lodha Group. World One was being built at an estimated cost of over US $321 million. Construction began in 2011, and it was expected to be tall. As the developer failed to obtain approval from the Airports Authority of India for that height, the project was stalled for few years. Palais Royale, Mumbai
Palais Royale is a residential supertall skyscraper project in Worli, Mumbai. At , it is the tallest building and third tallest structure in India. The building sits on land previously owned by Shree Ram Mills Ltd. Permits for construction were granted in 2005, and construction began in 2008. The project's progress has been stalled due to multiple public interest litigation lawsuits filed by NGOs Janhit Manch and UHRF, Delhi. These litigations were disposed of by the Supreme Court of India in October 2019. In its judgement, the Court observed that the lawsuits lacked consistency and bonafides. The promoters of the project have contended the lawsuits to be motivated and sponsored by private interests of rival builder Mufatraj Munot of Kalpataru Builders. LIC Building is a 15-storied building in Chennai, India, serving as the southern headquarters of the Life Insurance Corporation of India. The National Capital Region (NCR) is a planning region centred upon the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi in India.
