Sinaloa (), officially the Estado Libre y Soberano de Sinaloa ( en, Free and Sovereign State of Sinaloa), is one of the 31 states which, along with Mexico City, comprise the Administrative divisions of Mexico, Federal Entities of Mexico. It is divided into Municipalities of Sinaloa, 18 municipalities and its capital city is Culiacán, Culiacán Rosales. It is located in Northwestern Mexico, and is bordered by the states of Sonora to the north, Chihuahua (state), Chihuahua and Durango to the east (separated from them by the Sierra Madre Occidental) and Nayarit to the south. To the west, Sinaloa faces Baja California Sur across the Gulf of California. The state covers an area of , and includes the Islands of Palmito Verde, Palmito de la Virgen, Altamura, Santa María, Saliaca, Macapule and San Ignacio. Fundación Cultural para la Sociedad Mexicana, A.C. (Cultural Foundation for the Mexican Society) is a Mexican civil association whose primary activity is the operation of radio stations. The radio stations owned by FCSM are noncommercial (social) stations with Radio Maria programming. This is noteworthy, as Mexican law restricts religious programming on radio and prohibits the ownership of broadcast outlets by religious associations. Stations FCSM owns 11 radio stations, all but one on the FM band. The stations at Ensenada, Zamora, Guasave, Ciudad Obregón and San Miguel de Allende were awarded in 2017 and 2018; León was approved in December 2019. Ensenada launched in February 2020 and Zamora near the end of the year. XHMIL-FM is a radio station on 90.1 FM in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico. It is owned by Radiorama, jointly operated with Promomedios and carries its Ke Buena Regional Mexican Regional Mexican is a Latin music radio format encompassing the musical genres from the different parts of rural Mexico and the Southwestern United States. XHOPE-FM 89.7 is a radio station in Mazatlán, Sinaloa. It carries the national Exa FM format from MVS Radio. History XEOPE received its first concession in March 1945. Then known as XETK-AM, it broadcast on 630 kHz with 1,000 watts day and 250 watts night (later increased to 500). In 1972, Oscar Pérez Escobosa bought XETK along with XESA-AM in Culiacán. He already owned XERJ-AM in Mazatlán, which had begun operations in 1940, and he also founded XHMZ-TV Televisa Regional is a unit of Grupo Televisa which owns and operates television stations across Mexico.
