MTV2, a music video channel in the United States and the sister channel to MTV, has produced many television series and special events since its 1996 founding. This is a list of MTV2 shows that have made the channel notable over the years. Television shows are listed by the first letter in the title of the film or broadcast (not including the words "a", "an", or "the"). MTV2
MTV2 (formerly M2) is an American pay television Cable television, channel owned by the Paramount Media Networks division of Paramount Global. The channel launched initially as an all-music video service, once the original MTV had started to shift its programming. As with its parent network, MTV2's focus on music programming would gradually be downplayed during the 2000s. By 2011, MTV2 would primarily target young adult men with original and acquired lifestyle and reality programming, reruns of male-targeting shows from MTV, acquired sitcoms and movies, and a daily block of Hip hop music, hip hop and Rock music, rock genre videos in the early mornings. Due to Viacom's 2017 restructuring plan, MTV2's original programs were eventually moved over to the flagship MTV network, while the former network would drop its music video blocks in November of that year. Sister, Sister (TV Series)
''Sister, Sister'' is an American television sitcom starring Tia and Tamera Mowry as identical twin sisters separated at birth who are reunited as teenagers. It premiered on April 1, 1994 on ABC as part of its TGIF comedy lineup, and finished its run on The WB on May 23, 1999, airing 119 episodes over six seasons. The predominantly black cast consisted of the Mowry sisters with Jackée Harry and Tim Reid costarring as their respective adoptive parents, alongside Marques Houston as their annoying neighbor Roger. RonReaco Lee and Deon Richmond later joined the cast in the fifth season. The series was created by Kim Bass, Gary Gilbert, and Fred Shafferman, and produced by de Passe Entertainment and Paramount Network Television. As a result of ABC removing ''Sister, Sister'' from its TGIF lineup for its second season, ratings declined significantly and the network ultimately cancelled the series in April 1995. MTV2 Hip-Hop
MTV (Originally an initialism of Music Television) is an American cable channel that launched on August 1, 1981. Based in New York City, it serves as the flagship property of the MTV Entertainment Group, part of Paramount Media Networks, a division of Paramount Global. The channel originally aired music videos and related programming as guided by television personalities known as VJ (media personality), video jockeys, or VJs. In the years since its inception, it significantly toned down its focus on music in favor of original reality programming for teenagers and young adults. Since early 2020, MTV has devoted most of its programming schedule to a single program, ''Ridiculousness (TV series), Ridiculousness'', which in June 2020 aired "for 113 hours out of the network’s entire 168-hour lineup".
