A podcast is a program made available in digital format for download over the Internet. For example, an episodic series of digital audio or video files that a user can download to a personal device to listen to at a time of their choosing. Streaming applications and podcasting services provide a convenient and integrated way to manage a personal consumption queue across many podcast sources and playback devices. There also exist podcast search engines, which help users find and share podcast episodes. A podcast series usually features one or more recurring hosts engaged in a discussion about a particular topic or current event. Discussion and content within a podcast can range from carefully scripted to completely improvised. The Generally Speaking Production Network (GSPN) is an online media production company founded by Cliff and Stephanie Ravenscraft on December 16, 2005. Background History A fan of the television series ''Lost'', and inspired by Leo Laporte and his ''this Week in Tech'' podcast, Cliff Ravenscraft began with a ''Lost''-discussion podcast after only finding one other on the subject in 2005. Ravenscraft began the podcast as a hobby with no experience in broadcasting, radio, or television; in a June 2007 interview with ''Podcast User Magazine'', Ravenscraft confessed that "he didn't put a lot fpreparation into the show at first, and that his audio was poor, but ..the content was in high demand." Scott Blaine Johnson (born July 17, 1969) is an American cartoonist, illustrator, game designer, and podcaster. He lives in South Jordan, Utah, with his wife and three children. In 2008, Johnson launched Frog Pants Studios, LLC, an illustration and audio production company. Early life Scott Johnson was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up and went to high school in the suburb Sandy City. He has also lived in Mississippi and Louisiana while on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). Feral Audio was an independent podcast network and production company, founded in 2012 as a podcasting collective by Dustin Marshall after Dustin left Earwolf. Feral launched from Executive Producer's Shadi Petosky's apartment in Franklin Village to be near the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. Shadi, through her studio PUNY Entertainment, financed Feral and PUNY artists created Feral's brand identity, website, and cover art for Feral's first slate of podcasts. In 2013 Feral moved to Starburns Industries in Burbank, CA. Feral Audio LLC was formed in January 2016 as a partnership between Dustin Marshall, Jason Smith, Dan Harmon, and Starburns Industries.
