Amsterdam ( , , , lit. Willeke Alberti
Willeke Alberti (born 3 February 1945) (real name: Willy Albertina Verbrugge) is a Dutch singer and actress, the daughter of entertainer and singer Willy Alberti (1926–1985) and Hendrika Geertruida Kuiper (1921–2011). Biography Willeke Alberti started her career at the early age of eleven in the musical ''Duel om Barbara'' and she recorded her first single in 1958 together with her father. During the 1960s, she was a well-known singer in the Netherlands and had at least one No. 1 hit with "De winter was lang" ("It was a long winter"), however there was no official Dutch chart at the time. Willeke and her father had a television show between 1965 and 1969. Her singing career from 1970 onwards is less active, however Alberti still releases singles and albums at an irregular interval and plays minor roles in television programs and movies. Caroline Ansink
Caroline Ansink (born 8 August 1959 in Amsterdam) is a Dutch musician, music educator and composer. Biography Ansink studied music at Utrechts Conservatorium, flute with Abbie de Quant and composition with Joep Straesser. After completing her studies with Docerend Musicus (1985) and Uitvoerend Musicus (1986) degrees, Ansink worked as a flutist with the Clara Schumann Orchestra in Cologne and a music teacher at the Utrechts Conservatorium. Edwin Van Ankeren
Edwin van Ankeren (born 13 August 1968) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a striker. Playing career Club A journeyman striker, Van Ankeren has played professionally in his native Holland as well as in Italy, France and Norway. He was, however, most successful during his spells with different clubs in Belgium. He only had one season with Dutch club PSV, whom he left for Eendracht Aalst in 1994. He left Italian side Viterbese in March 2001 after only seven weeks, claiming the club did not pay his wages. After spells in Norway, van Ankeren returned to Holland in 2005 to join newly formed professional club FC Omniworld. Hans Andreus
Hans Andreus (21 February 1926, Amsterdam – 9 June 1977, Putten) was the pseudonym of the Dutch poet and writer Johan Wilhelm van der Zant. Van der Zant was born in Amsterdam. His parents divorced soon after his birth, his mother remarried, and the family lived in Scheveningen between 1930 and 1937 before moving back to Amsterdam. He started to write poems in 1939, and dropped out of school in 1940. In 1945, he studied for a while at the Amsterdamse Toneelschool, but also dropped out in 1947. Afterwards he worked as a corrector with De Volkskrant. Andreus' debut work, the poetry book 'Muziek voor Kijkdieren', came out in 1951. His work is seen as part of the Dutch/Belgian literary movement known as 'De Vijftigers', a group of young poets started in the late 40s and connected to the COBRA movement, which also included Lucebert and Hugo Claus. Willy Geertje van Ammelrooij (born 5 April 1944), known as Willeke van Ammelrooy, is a Dutch actress and director. Life and career Willeke van Ammelrooy was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She attended drama school in Amsterdam. Van Ammelrooy has acted on stage as well as in films. She participated in 27 movies. Her first film was ''Mira'' in 1971. Success with ''Antonia's Line'' She later starred in the award-winning feminist film ''Antonia's Line'', which tells the story of an independent woman who, after returning to the anonymous Dutch village of her birth, establishes and nurtures a close-knit matriarchal community. Manon Alving
''Manon'' () is an ''opéra comique'' in five acts by Jules Massenet to a French libretto by Henri Meilhac and Philippe Gille, based on the 1731 novel '' L'histoire du chevalier des Grieux et de Manon Lescaut'' by the Abbé Prévost. It was first performed at the Opéra-Comique in Paris on 19 January 1884, with sets designed by Eugène Carpezat (act 1), Auguste Alfred Rubé and Philippe Chaperon (acts 2 and 3), and Jean-Baptiste Lavastre (act 4). Prior to Massenet's work, Halévy (''Manon Lescaut'', ballet, 1830) and Auber (''Manon Lescaut'', opéra comique, 1856) had used the subject for musical stage works. Massenet also wrote a one-act sequel to ''Manon'', ''Le portrait de Manon'' (1894), involving the Chevalier des Grieux as an older man.
