A major north–south highway extending almost the entire length of the Florida peninsula, State Road 45 (SR 45) is the unsigned Florida Department of Transportation designation of most of the current U.S. Route 41 in Florida. The southern terminus of SR 45 is an intersection with SR 90 in downtown Naples; the northern terminus is an intersection with US 441 ( SR 25) in High Springs. South of Causeway Boulevard ( SR 676) near Tampa, SR 45 is also known as the Tamiami Trail. Ellenton, Florida
Ellenton is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Manatee County, Florida, United States. The population was 4,129 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Bradenton–Sarasota–Venice Metropolitan Statistical Area. History The oldest structure in Ellenton is the Gamble Plantation, which was built between 1845 and 1850 by Major Robert Gamble. Originally a sugar plantation worked by slaves, the antebellum mansion fell into disrepair after the Civil War. Major George Patten and his wife, Mary, purchased the property in 1870 and named the area "Ellenton" after his daughter Ellen. In 1881, the United States government designated Ellenton as an official post office site. A refining plant for fuller's earth located in Ellenton along the Manatee River opened in 1903. It was owned by the Atlantic Refining Company and had 150+ employees being the biggest refinery the company owned. It would burn down after catching fire twice in 1908 and later in 1912. ... Oneco () is an unincorporated community in Manatee County, Florida, United States. It is a suburb of Bradenton, located just southeast of the city. The community is part of the North Port–Sarasota–Bradenton Metropolitan Statistical Area. In the 1920 Census it was enumerated as Precinct 6. The community reported as a census-designated place by the U.S. Census Bureau from 1960 to 1980. History A post office has been in operation at Oneco since 1889. The origin of the name Oneco is unclear but two possible stories exist.
