The European Union (EU) publishes a list of air carriers that are banned from entering the airspace of any of its member states, usually for failing to meet EU regulatory oversight standards. The first version of the list was published in 2006, on the legal basis of Regulation No. 474/2006 of the European Commission, issued on 22 March of that year. The current version of the list was published on 23 November 2022. The Telecommunications Company Suriname (Telesur) is the government-owned full telecommunications service provider for Suriname. The services provided by Telesur include telephone, internet and wireless CDMA, GSM, HSDPA, UMTS, HSPA+ and LTE (telecommunication), LTE. Surinam Airways ( nl, Surinaamse Luchtvaart Maatschappij), also known by its initials ''SLM'', is the flag carrier of Suriname, based in Paramaribo. Fly All Ways is an airline of Suriname, based in Paramaribo and started operations on January 10, 2016 with the launch of its inaugural flight above Suriname. Its first commercial flight took place on January 22, 2016 to São Luís, capital of the state of Maranhão in Brazil. On February 5, 2016 this was followed by the first charter flight to Barbados. Later in February 2016 first flights followed to Willemstad, Curaçao and Philipsburg, Sint Maarten. In the same month Guyana granted the new airline rights to operate scheduled flights to Guyana with connections to Brazil and the Caribbean. Fly All Ways is planning to fly to several cities in both the Caribbean and South America. ''De Surinaamsche Bank'' (DSB; Bank of Suriname in English), is the largest bank in Suriname. History Simon Abendanon founded De Surinaamsche Bank (DSB) on 19 January 1865 in Paramaribo, and it opened for business on 18 July 1865 in the home of one of the founders, pending construction of its own building. The Bank’s headquarters remained in Amsterdam though. Abendanon was a captain and court bailiff in Suriname. After the abolition of slavery in 1863, there was a period of monetary chaos and Abendanon saw an opportunity in creating a bank that would issue bank-notes and use the funds to finance trade. Caricom Airways, which stands for'' Caribbean Commuter Airways'', was a regional airline from the Caribbean, with the headquarters of the company at Paramaribo, Suriname. From the down-town Zorg en Hoop Airport in Suriname, Caricom Airways mainly flew charter flights to various destinations in the interior of Suriname, the Caribbean and Northern Brazil. Caricom Airways had plans for regular flights to regional destinations. Apintie is a Surinamese television station and radio station broadcasting company in Paramaribo. Apintie was founded by Charles Vervuurt and his son Eddy Vervuurt in 1958.
