This article contains a complete list of Michelin 3-star restaurants in the United States. Michelin stars are a rating system used by the red Michelin Guide to grade restaurants on their quality. The guide was originally developed in 1900 to show French drivers where local amenities such as restaurants and mechanics were. The rating system was first introduced in 1926 as a single star, with the second and third stars introduced in 1933. According to the Guide, one star signifies "a very good restaurant", two stars are "excellent cooking that is worth a detour", and three stars mean "exceptional cuisine that is worth a special journey". The listing of starred restaurants is updated once per year. The Michelin Guide began reviewing restaurants in the United States in 2005 beginning with New York City. In subsequent years, Michelin expanded its reviews to other major US cities. As of the 2022 Michelin Guide, there are 14 restaurants in the US with a rating of 3 Michelin stars. ...

The Michelin Guides ( ) are a series of guide books that have been published by the French tyre company Michelin since 1900. The Guide awards up to three Michelin star (classification), stars for excellence to a select few establishments. The acquisition or loss of a star or stars can have dramatic effects on the success of a restaurant. Daniel Boulud (born 25 March 1955 in Saint-Pierre-de-Chandieu) is a French chef and restaurateur with restaurants in New York City, Palm Beach, Miami, Toronto, Montréal, Singapore, the Bahamas, the Berkshires and Dubai. is a Japanese phrase, used when ordering food in restaurants, that means 'I'll leave it up to you' (from Japanese ). Usage The phrase ''omakase'', literally 'I leave it up to you', is most commonly used when dining at Japanese restaurants where the customer leaves it up to the chef to select and serve seasonal specialties. The Japanese antonym for ''omakase'' is ''okonomi'', which means choosing what to order. In American English, the expression is used by patrons at sushi restaurants to leave the selection to the chef, as opposed to ordering ''à la carte''. Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fare is a restaurant in New York City with three Michelin stars. It was the first New York City restaurant outside Manhattan to receive 3 Michelin stars. In December 2016, the restaurant was relocated from 200 Schermerhorn Street in Downtown Brooklyn to 431 West 37th Street, in the Hell's Kitchen section of Manhattan. Daniel Humm
Daniel Humm (born September 21, 1976) is a Swiss chef and restaurant owner; he is chef/owner of Eleven Madison Park. His cuisine is focused on locally sourced ingredients, with an emphasis on simplicity, purity, and seasonal flavors. A native of Switzerland, he was exposed to a range of food at a very young age, and began working in kitchens at the age of 14. From there he spent time in some of the finest Swiss hotels and restaurants before earning his first Michelin star at the age of 24. In 2003, Humm moved to the United States to become the executive chef at Campton Place in San Francisco where he received four stars from the ''San Francisco Chronicle''.
