Desire Luzinda is a Ugandan US California-based recording, performing artiste, philanthropist, and founder of Desire Luzinda Foundation International (DLFI) established on June 5, 2021. With influences from songbirds Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, Desire Luzinda is an inspiring icon in society today. Luzinda sings in Luganda, English, and Swahili. Goodlyfe Crew
Radio & Weasel is a Ugandan dynamic Duo under Goodlyfe Crew a Ugandan music group with lead performers being singers Moses Radio (born Moses Nakintije Ssekibogo) and easel Manizo(born Douglas Mayanja). Moses Radio provided smooth RnB vocals while Weasel's contribution is a fusion of reggae, ragga and dancehall vibes. Because of their prominence, Moses Radio and Weasel have formed their own duo known as Radio and Weasel. The Lead singer Moses and Vocalist Radio died on 1 February 2018 from brain injuries after an assault by a bouncer at a club in Entebbe. Gravity Omutujju
Gereson Wabuyi, known professionally as Gravity Omutujju, is a Ugandan rapper. He has collaborated with numerous other Ugandan musicians, including Eddy Kenzo Early life and education Gereson Wabuyi was born in 1993 in Nakulabye. Geoffrey Oryema
Geoffrey Oryema (16 April 1953 – 22 June 2018) was a Ugandan musician. In 1977 after the murder of his father, Erinayo Wilson Oryema, who was a cabinet minister in the government of Idi Amin, he began his life in exile. At the age of 24, and at the height of Amin's power, Oryema was smuggled out of the country in the trunk of a car. He sang in the languages of his youth, Swahili and Acholi, the languages of his lost country, the "clear green land" of Uganda, and he also sang in English and French. Oryema earned his international reputation on the release of his second album, ''Beat the Border''. He had collaborated with Peter Gabriel, Brian Eno and others, and was backed by French musicians including Jean-Pierre Alarcen (guitar) and Patrick Buchmann (drums, percussion, backing vocals), touring with WOMAD in Australia, the USA, Japan, Brazil and Europe. Giovanni Kiyingi
Giovanni Kiyingi, is a Ugandan folk singer-songwriter and world music artist. He is known for his skills as a multi-instrumentalist who plays the local Ugandan fiddle (endingidi), akogo, adungu, guitar, harmonica, flute, djembe, calabash, congas, drums, and maracas, among others. He was one of the Ugandan artists chosen to welcome Pope Francis to Uganda at Kololo on 27 November 2015. His skill as a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and performer have won him invitations to perform at major music festivals and co-operative events in Uganda and the rest of the world. Gabriel K
Gabriel Kakuru, professionally known as Gabriel K, is a Ugandan R&B/ Soul singer-songwriter and businessman. His debut studio album ''Done Waiting'' was released in May 2019 and his second album ''Love Ocean'' in February 2020. Career Gabriel K joined the music industry as a curtain raiser for other musicians in the 2000s. He then gave music a break and joined radio and television, where he worked as a radio presenter on Monitor FM (now KFM) and also as television host on the defunct WBS Television and CCTV. Fred Masagazi
Fred Masagazi (1937–2009) was a Ugandan " Afrojazz" musician. He was the first Ugandan artist to have his song played on the BBC, with his song "Kolazizo", in 1963. Music Masagazi started his music career in 1955 as a singer in a Congolese band, "Tinapa", where he sang both Congolese and Luganda. His first song was "Atanawa Musolo", which he released a year before Uganda's independence in 1961. He later released "Osaana Okole" in 1962 and "Lucy Tuula" in 1963. Masagazi was an accomplished composer who sang for more than fifty years. He was among the few Kadongo Kamu musicians who could sing, play the guitar and dramatise his music on stage. Frank Mbalire
Frank Mbalire is a Ugandan musician and guitarist. He was one of the members of Afrigo Band. Early life and education Mbalire was born in Natete Kampala to Joseph Yawe and Dorotia Nambi. Music Mbalire joined Afrigo Band in the late 70s as a rhythm guitarist but later moved to "Thames band", from where he composed "Bamuleete" and "Sirikusuula". He relocated to Sweden for sometime before returning to Afrigo band. In 2009, Mbalire left Afrigo to form "Misty Jazz band", which also has Moses Matovu and had made Kampala Casino their home. Fille Mutoni (born 25 July 1991), is a Ugandan recording artist. She has collaborated with Radio and Weasel and Bruce Melodie from Rwanda, among others. She had her first music concert in March 2018 at Golf course Hotel which was very successful. She went on a Europe tour for her "Alter Ego" album launch and visited Paris, Sweden, Germany, Denmark and Netherlands. Walukagga Shafik (born 10 January 1996), is a Ugandan rapper better known by his stage name Fik Fameica a.k.a. Fresh Bwoy. His debut came in 2015 with "Pistol" under the Black Man Town music label, led by a Ugandan music icon Geosteady. His later songs, "Salawo" and "Mbega Wa Bbaala" gained him a recording contract with Kama Ivien Management. His club hit "Batuwulira" followed by "Byenyenya" followed.
