Nagueshi
Nagueshi or Nagesh is a form of Lord Shiva worshipped by Konkani Hindus in India. The temple lies in verdant surroundings in the Ponda district of Goa. Unlike many other Hindu temples of Goa which were shifted out of the Velha Conquistas the Nagueshi Temple is at its original place. It has, however, been renovated a number of times. It is located in Bandode village, Ponda, North Goa district. The temple has recently banned entry of foreigners into the temple citing objectionable dressing and conduct as the reason. Amona, Goa
Amona is a census town in North Goa district in the state of Goa, India. It is believed that Amona was an ancient centre for trade and commerce with a lot of cultivated fertile land and alluvial banks of the Mhadaee, now Mandovi River. The surrounding land holds many cashew plantations and has a Sesa Goa pig iron plant. The rich soil and centralized location in Gomantak with water networks for inland transport allowed Aryans to settle on the land. Remains of ancient fortresses and settlements submerged in the soil around the ferry wharf region have been reported in Amona by the archeology department of Goa. Shree Betal Temple
Shri Betal temple (बेताळ) is a Hindu temple in Amona village in the Bicholim taluk of Goa, India. The presiding deity is Betal who is worshiped as a Bhairava form of Shiva in the form of a warrior; normally the idol of Shree Betal is standing in the temple, but during festivals his idol is displayed on a horse back in the village. He is the ''Gram devata'' (village lord) of Amona. There is a temple of Shri Betal in a village named as "Gorli" in Pauri Gharwal district of Uttrakhand. Shantadurga (Devanagari:शांतादुर्गा, ) is the most popular form of the Hindu goddess Durga revered in Goa, India, as well some parts of Karnataka. She is a form of the ancient Mother goddess known as Santeri. She is worshipped in almost all villages of Goa as an ant hill. This is seen in some temples dedicated to Shantadurga.
