Telugu cinema, also known as Tollywood, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Telugu language, widely spoken in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Telugu cinema is based in Film Nagar, Hyderabad, India. The nickname ''Tollywood'' is a portmanteau of the words Telugu and Hollywood. By 2021, it has emerged as the largest film industry in India in terms of box-office. Aradhana (1962 Film)
''Aradhana'' () is a 1962 Indian Telugu-language romance film produced by V. B. Rajendra Prasad and D. Ranga Rao, and directed by V. Madhusudhana Rao. The film stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Savitri, with music composed by S. Rajeswara Rao. It is a remake of the Bengali film ''Sagarika'' (1956). Kadaru Nagabhushanam
Kadaru Nagabhushanam or K. B. Nagabhushanam (1902 – 18 October 1976) was an Indian film director and producer in the 1940s to 1960s, working in Telugu and Tamil cinema. He was the husband of P. Kannamba. They established Rajarajeshwari Films and produced many mythological films starring Kannamba in the lead role including ''Harischandra''. Their social film ''Navajeevanam'' on untouchability got the recognition of Madras State and was chosen as the best feature film. ''Dakshayagnam'' is a 1962 Indian Telugu-language Hindu mythological film, produced and directed by Kadaru Nagabhushanam under the Varalakshmi Pictures banner. It stars S. V. Ranga Rao, Devika, and N. T. Rama Rao, with music composed by Saluri Hanumantha Rao. This was N. T. Rama Rao's 100th film which was also dubbed in Tamil with the same title. Devika Devadoss (born Prameela Devi) (25 April 1943 – 2 May 2002) was an Indian actress who worked in Tamil, Telugu with few Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi film industry. ''Chitti Tammudu'' is a 1962 Telugu drama film directed by K. B. Tilak. The film is based on the 1838 English novel ''Oliver Twist'' by Charles Dickens. The plot The story is about the problems faced by children in orphanages, irregularities by the management and the related consequences. Ramu (Jaggayya) and Subhadra (Devika) love one other. Ramu urgently leaves to Kashmir, and returns home to find that his beloved Subhadra is pregnant, and that her father had died of that insult. She delivers a boy in a mission hospital and dies. The boy is admitted to an orphanage and named Chiranjeevi. Hostel warden Tayaramma (Suryakantam) feeds the orphans with insufficient food and they are starving. Buddharaju Venkata Appala Haranath Raju (2 September 1936 – 1 November 1989), known mononymously as Haranath, was an Indian actor who worked in Telugu films. Early life career and death Haranath was born on 2 September 1936 in Raparthi near Pithapuram and Gollaprolu in East Godavari district. He had two younger brothers and a sister.
