This is a comprehensive list of the songs recorded by Sergio Franchi. It begins with the songs he recorded on the Durium label in Italy and in the UK (1959-1961), and continues with the songs he recorded in the United States beginning in 1962. Songs recorded at Durium Studios, Italy & UK Most of these thirty-one (1959-1961) songs were recorded in the Italian language: the exception is the third song, which was recorded in both Italian and English/Italian versions. "Il nostro concerto" and "Amore Mio" were both originally recorded by Franchi in Italian, but English/Italian versions were recorded by him on the Durium (UK) label. Franchi's recordings of "Amore Mio" and "I tuoi occhi verde" were hit singles in Italy. Sergio Franchi
Sergio Franchi (born Sergio Franci Galli; April 6, 1926 – May 1, 1990) was an Italian-American tenor and actor who enjoyed success in the United States and internationally after gaining notice in Britain in the early 1960s. In 1962, RCA Victor signed him to a seven-year contract and in October of that year Franchi appeared on ''The Ed Sullivan Show'' and performed at Carnegie Hall. Sol Hurok managed Franchi's initial American concert tour. Franchi became a headliner in Las Vegas, and starred in concerts and cabarets on several continents. His earliest ambitions and studies had been directed toward an operatic career, but he instead found his niche in popular and romantic music. Franchi performed musical comedies on stage, appeared on numerous television variety shows, and starred in a major motion picture. He became an American citizen in 1972. "Vorrei che fosse amore" ( en, "I wish it was love") is a song written by Antonio Amurri and Bruno Canfora. Italian singer Mina recorded it in 1968 as the final theme of the musical TV show '' Canzonissima''. The song was later included on her album '' Canzonissima '68'', and was also released as a single, reaching number 9 on the Italian chart. According to ''Cash Box'' magazine, it was ranked 77th on the list of the best-selling singles in Italy between July 1968 and July 1969. The following year, the song was re-recorded by Mina in French under the title "Si..." and released as a single. To promote this publication, at the end of April 1969, the singer went to Paris, where she performed the song on local television. Mattinata ( nap, label= Foggiano, Matenéte) is a seaside resort town and ''comune'' (municipality) in the province of Foggia, Apulia, southern Italy. Switzerland competed at the Eurovision Song Contest 1991, held in Rome, Italy. The Swiss entry was Sandra Simó with the Italian song "Canzone per te", composed by Renato Mascetti.
