Gaston Flosse
Gaston Flosse (born 24 June 1931) is a French politician who has been President of French Polynesia on five separate occasions. He is currently a member of the Senate of France and has been a French junior minister under Jacques Chirac. He received sentences for corruption, which are under appeal. Life and career Flosse was born in Rikitea, Mangareva, French Polynesia. He is of both French and Polynesian descent. Flosse supports the current autonomy arrangement between French Polynesia and France and has led the conservative pro-autonomy and anti-independence party Tahoera'a Huiraatira (People's Rally for the Republic Party) for more than 20 years. He was the vice-president of the government council from 1982 to 1984, when more autonomy was gained and he became President of the Governing Council. Teva Rohfritsch
Teva Rohfritsch (born 3 February 1975) is a French Polynesian politician and former Cabinet Minister. Since 2020 he has been one of French Polynesia's two senators in the French Senate, sitting with the Rally of Democrats, Progressives and Independents. Rohfritsch is a former director of Socredo bank. He was first appointed to French Polynesia's Council of Ministers as tourism minister in November 2003. In 2005 he was economics minister. Following the 2008 French Polynesian legislative election he was appointed finance minister. In Oscar Temaru's 2009 administration he was appointed Minister of Maritime Resources. Nuihau Laurey (born 29 December 1964) is a French Polynesian politician and former Cabinet Minister. He was vice-president of French Polynesia from 2014-2017 and one of the two senators for French Polynesia from 2015 to 2020. He was acting president of French Polynesia in 2014 between Gaston Flosse and Édouard Fritch's presidencies. Early life Laurey worked for the government-owned Socredo bank before working as a consultant. Lana Tetuanui
Lana Tetuanui (née Hunter, 23 February 1970) is a French politician who has served as a Senator for French Polynesia since 2015. A member of Tapura Huiraatira, she has been elected to the Assembly of French Polynesia since 2001. Career Tetuanui was born in Uturoa, on the island of Raiatea. Her husband Cyril Tetuanui has been Mayor of Tumaraa since the 2008 municipal election. In 2001, she was elected to the Assembly of French Polynesia for the Leeward Islands on the list led by Oscar Temaru. She became an ally of Gaston Flosse, serving as a cabinet minister from 2008 to 2011. Teura Iriti (born 7 January 1965) is a Tahitian politician, member of Tahoera'a Huiraatira party. She has been President of the Arue, French Polynesia since 2003. Vincent Dubois (homme Politique)
Vincent Dubois (born 5 August 1981) is a French Polynesian lawyer and politician who represented French Polynesia in the Senate of France from 2014 to 2015. He is the son-in-law of Tahoera'a Huiraatira leader Gaston Flosse. Education and career Dubois was born in Cannes. Richard Ari'ihau Tuheiava (born 28 February 1974) is a French Polynesian lawyer and politician. He represented French Polynesia in the Senate of France from 2008 to 2014, sitting with the Socialist Party. He is now a Member of the Assembly of French Polynesia and a member of Tavini Huiraatira. Early life Tuheiava was born in Papeete and grew up in Raiatea and Moorea. He was educated at Lycée Paul-Gauguin before studying economics at the University of French Polynesia, graduating in 1993.
