Radio broadcasting is transmission of audio (sound), sometimes with related metadata, by radio waves to radio receivers belonging to a public audience. In terrestrial radio broadcasting the radio waves are broadcast by a land-based radio station, while in satellite radio the radio waves are broadcast by a satellite in Earth orbit. To receive the content the listener must have a broadcast radio receiver (''radio''). XHBUAP-FM is a radio station serving Puebla, Puebla owned by the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla. It is branded as Radio BUAP and broadcasts on 96.9 FM from its campus. Radio Fórmula
Radio Fórmula is a Mexican talk radio network. Founded in 1968, Radio Fórmula programs are broadcast on more than 100 stations in Mexico as well as several stations in the United States. It is the flagship product of Grupo Fórmula, which also owns the TeleFórmula cable news network and PM Onstreet, an outdoor advertising firm. History Grupo Formula traces its beginnings to 1968, when several Mexico City stations were split from Emilio Azcárraga Vidaurreta’s Radiópolis system. Among these was XEDF-AM 970. By 1984, Radio Fórmula operated five Mexico City stations: 970 AM, 1470 AM, 1500 AM, 103.3 FM and 104.1 FM. On September 19, 1985, Radio Fórmula's headquarters in downtown Mexico City were destroyed by an 8.1 earthquake, which killed several hosts and employees and knocked the AM stations off the air for nearly a month (the FM stations' transmitters are based at the Torre Latinoamericana). XEPOP-AM is a radio station in Puebla, Puebla. It broadcasts Radio Fórmula on 1120 kHz and is owned by Cincoradio. History XEPOP received its concession on April 4, 1974. It was owned by Sergio Fajardo Ortiz and broadcast on 1490 kHz. XEPOP was sold to XEPOP, S.A., in 1988. Joint ownership in the concessionaire is held by María Elvira del Coral Castillo Zepeda and Pablo Cañedo Castillo. XHEPA-FM/XEPA-AM is a radio station on 89.7 FM and 1010 AM in Puebla, Puebla, Mexico. It carries the La Ke Buena regional Mexican format from Radiópolis. 1010 AM is a Canadian clear-channel frequency. History XEPA-AM 1010 received its concession on October 9, 1958. Salvador Martínez Aguirre owned the station, which signed on 16 days later on 1370 kHz with 5,000 watts of power during the day and 250 at night. Martínez Aguirre had entered into a partnership with Veracruz radio giant Carlos Ferráez Matos, and the station's inauguration was headlined by Governor Fausto M. Ortega. Given the difficulty of sending audio by phone line to the transmitter at San José Xilotzingo, XEPA was authorized to use an FM studio-transmitter link at 88.2 MHz.
