Acappella (group)
Acappella is an all-male contemporary Christian vocal group founded in 1982 by Keith Lancaster, who has been the singer, songwriter, and producer throughout the group's history. The group only consists of vocalists who sing in a cappella style without instrumental accompaniment. Acappella's fan base steadily grew through the 1980s as the group experienced many lineup changes and constantly experimented with fresh new sounds. The landmark album, ''Sweet Fellowship'' (1988), ushered in one of the most significant developments in the group's membership and style. Lancaster stepped out of the group as lead singer to focus on the role of producer and manager. The group continued to change after that, developing a unique sound that has been mimicked by countless groups around the world. The Buzztones
The Buzztones are a UK-based a cappella group formed in 2011. They were finalists of the 2013 View from The Shard singing competition and debuted at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with their sell-out show ''Nevermind the Buzztones'' in 2013. They returned to the Fringe with a new show, ''Buzzology'', in August 2015. The group were founded as a break-away group from London male chorus, Eschoir. Their musical output is predominantly made up of 'pop' covers and 'mash-ups' of songs by UK and US-charting artists. Hailing from London, The Buzztones have performed at the BBC's Pink Tent, also headlining The Bedford, Balham with sell-out shows in 2012, 2013 and 2015. Crazy Horse (band)
Crazy Horse is an American rock band best known for their association with Neil Young. Beginning in 1968 and continuing to the present day, they have been co-credited on a number of Young's albums, with 12 studio albums and numerous live albums being billed as by Neil Young and Crazy Horse. They have also released six studio albums of their own, issued between 1971 and 2009. Billy Talbot (bass) and Ralph Molina (drums) have been the only consistent members of the band. On four of Crazy Horse's studio albums, Talbot and Molina serve as the rhythm section to entirely different sets of musicians. Cosmos (band)
Cosmos was a Latvian a cappella band that formed in Riga in 2002. The band comprised singers Jānis Šipkēvics, Andris Sējāns (both countertenors), Juris Lisenko (tenor), Jānis Ozols (baritone), Jānis Strazdiņš ( bass) and Reinis Sējāns (rhythm). Cosmos gained national and international recognition after they were chosen to represent Latvia in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest held in Athens, Greece with the song "I Hear Your Heart". Despite winning the national Eirodziesma 2006 contest, the band finished in joint sixteenth place out of the twenty-four finalists, with thirty points. Committed (vocal Group)
Committed is an a cappella group of six male vocalists from Huntsville, Alabama, all students at Oakwood University, a historically black Seventh-day Adventist school in Huntsville. The group—Therry Thomas, Dennis Baptiste, Tommy Gervais, Geston Pierre, Robert Pressley and Maurice Staple—began singing together in 2003, inspired by another a cappella group that originated at Oakwood, Take 6. The group won the second season of the musical competition ''The Sing-Off''. They won the title on the finale broadcast on December 20, 2010 broadcast on NBC, singing a vocal ''a cappella'' arrangement of "We Are the Champions" from Queen. Coco's Lunch
Coco's Lunch is an ''a cappella'' musical group based in Melbourne, Australia. The group was founded in 1994 by vocalists and multi-instrumentalists Lisa Young (voice, percussion) and Sue Johnson (voice, percussion), with Nicola Eveleigh (voice, percussion, flute), Jaqueline Gawler (voice, percussion), and Gabrielle MacGregor (voice, percussion). The group's sound is influenced by jazz, blues, classical, African and Carnatic traditions, and has been compared to artists such as Sweet Honey in the Rock and Bobby McFerrin. The Coats
The Coats (sometimes called The Coats Vocal Band) are an a cappella singing group which was founded in Seattle, Washington in 1987. The group consists of bass singer Kerry Dahlen, baritone Doug Wisness, Jamie Dieveney and Keith Michael Anderson as first and second tenors, respectively. The coats are known mainly on the Northwest coast for their Christmas albums and concerts. The members support local Washington high schools by performing on their stages and donating a percentage of ticket sales to the schools fine arts program. Club For Five
Club for Five (CFF) is a contemporary a cappella group from Finland. They are known for their unique singing style. Club for Five was founded in Helsinki in 2001. The members of the band are musicians with diverse and extensive musical backgrounds: Maija Sariola (soprano), Susanna Hietala (alto), Jouni Kannisto (tenor), Juha Viitala (baritone) and Tuukka Haapaniemi ( bass). Chicago ''a cappella'' is a non-profit organization devoted to furthering the art of ensemble singing without any instruments. The group of professional singers began in 1993 by Jonathan Miller and conduct a series of performances annually. The organization displays a yearly subscription series for Chicago residents, produces studio recordings as well as live and broadcast-media musical content, and performs on tour and in special arrangements. The ensemble is known for their outstanding vocal abilities, innovative programming, and have a reputation of being a leader within the choral field. Chapter 6 (band)
Chapter 6 is a professional, all-male, a cappella, vocal ensemble which predominantly tours the United States. Composed of six vocalists and one arranger, Chapter 6 is the only vocal ensemble to win both the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (2001) and The National Harmony Sweepstakes (2004). Chapter 6 was featured on ''American Idol'' Season 7 in conjunction with bandmate Luke Menard's “Top 16” run. Chanticleer (ensemble)
Chanticleer () is a full-time male classical vocal musical ensemble, ensemble based in San Francisco, California, founded in 1978. It is known for its interpretations of Renaissance music, for which they were founded, but also a wide repertoire of jazz, Gospel music, gospel and contemporary classical music. Its name is derived from the "chanticleer and the Fox, clear singing rooster" in Chaucer's ''The Canterbury Tales''. The ensemble has made award-winning recordings. Cappella Romana
Cappella Romana is a vocal ensemble founded in 1991 in Portland, Oregon. Its name, meaning "Roman Chapel", refers to the medieval Greek concept of the Roman oikoumene (inhabited world), which embraced Rome and Western Europe, as well as the Byzantine Empire of Constantinople ("New Rome") and its Slavic commonwealth centered at Moscow. It has become especially known for its exploration of Eastern Orthodox vocal music. It has collaborated with notable museum exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the J.
