List Of People Who Accepted Golden Raspberry Awards
Most winners, with some exceptions, have not attended the Golden Raspberry Awards ceremony or personally accepted their award, given that the "Razzies" single out the worst films of the year. According to Razzies tradition, the ceremony precedes the corresponding Academy Award function by one day. In 1988, comedian Bill Cosby became the first to accept an award; he received his award for ''Leonard Part 6'' on a late-night show on Fox. Director Paul Verhoeven became the first recipient to claim an award in person, when he accepted both the Worst Picture and Worst Director awards for his film ''Showgirls'' (1995). J. David Shapiro is the only winner to have received awards in person twice, though both wins were for the same film, '' Battlefield Earth'', and only once in the actual ceremony. The Tonight Show
''The Tonight Show'' is an American late-night talk show that has aired on NBC since 1954. The show has been hosted by six comedians: Steve Allen (1954–1957), Jack Paar (1957–1962), Johnny Carson (1962–1992), Jay Leno (1992–2009 and 2010–2014), Conan O'Brien (2009–2010), and Jimmy Fallon (2014–present). Besides the main hosts, a number of regular "guest hosts" have been used, notably Ernie Kovacs, who hosted two nights per week during 1956–1957, and a number of guests used by Carson, who curtailed his own hosting duties back to three nights per week by the 1980s. Among Carson's regular guest hosts were Joey Bishop, David Letterman, Joan Rivers, David Brenner, and Jay Leno, although the practice has been mostly abandoned since hosts currently prefer reruns to showcasing potential rivals. Fallon has used guest hosts rarely, co-hosting the May 24, 2021 broadcast with Dave Grohl, Jimmy Kimmel hosting the April 1, 2022 broadcast (with Fallon swapping duties to guest ... Newsweek
''Newsweek'' is an American weekly online news magazine co-owned 50 percent each by Dev Pragad, its president and CEO, and Johnathan Davis (businessman), Johnathan Davis, who has no operational role at ''Newsweek''. Founded as a weekly print magazine in 1933, it was widely distributed during the 20th century, and had many notable editors-in-chief. The magazine was acquired by The Washington Post Company in 1961, and remained under its ownership until 2010. Revenue declines prompted The Washington Post Company to sell it, in August 2010, to the audio pioneer Sidney Harman for a purchase price of one dollar and an assumption of the magazine's liabilities. Later that year, ''Newsweek'' merged with the news and opinion website ''The Daily Beast'', forming The Newsweek Daily Beast Company. ''Newsweek'' was jointly owned by the estate of Harman and the diversified American media and Internet company IAC (company), IAC. The Late Show (Fox TV Series)
''The Late Show'' is an American late-night talk show and the first television program broadcast on the then-new Fox Network. Originally hosted by comic actress Joan Rivers, it first aired on October 9, 1986, under the title ''The Late Show Starring Joan Rivers''. It is also the first late-night show hosted by Arsenio Hall. Background The talk show was a direct attempt at competing against NBC's ''The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson'', where Rivers had been Carson's permanent guest host since 1983. The show was initially broadcast live. Many in 1986, including top executives at NBC, thought it was possible that Johnny Carson would retire after reaching his 25th anniversary on October 1, 1987, as it was such a logical cut-off point. In spring 1986, a confidential memo between top NBC executives listing about 10 possible successors in the event of Carson's retirement the next year was leaked. Rivers was shocked to see that she was not on the list. In an article she wrote for ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
