Syndicat National De L'Édition Phonographique
The National Syndicate of Phonographic Publishing (french: Syndicat national de l'édition phonographique; SNEP) is the inter-professional organisation that protects the interests of the French record industry. Originally known under the acronym SNICOP, the organisation was established in 1922 and has 48 member companies. SNEP's responsibilities include collecting and distributing royalty payments for broadcast and performance, preventing copyright infringement of its members' works (including music piracy), and sales certification of silver, gold, platinum and diamond records and videos. SNEP also compiles weekly official charts of France's top-selling music, including singles and albums. Julien Mari (, born 14 January 1990), better known as Jul (, stylized as JuL and in all caps), is a French rapper, singer, and producer. In February 2020, he became the biggest record seller in the history of French rap with more than four million albums sold at the age of 30, and in six years of career. Biography Jul was born in the 12th arrondissement of Marseille. Career Jul released his first single "''Sors le cross volé''" in November 2013. On 24 February 2014, he released his debut album, "''Dans ma paranoïa''" on the independent Liga One Industry label. It was the first of a prolific series. Sofiane Zermani (, ar, سفيان زرماني; born 21 July 1986) is a French rapper. He is also known as Fianso (; verlan of his first name). Born in Saint-Denis, Paris Region, he lived in the nearby Stains until age 13 when he moved to Le Blanc-Mesnil. In 2011, he released independently the album ''Blacklist'' followed by ''Blacklist II'' in 2013. In 2016, he launched a series of videos titled #JeSuisPasséChezSo inviting other less-known rappers to take part. In November 2016, he was signed to Capitol Records, an affiliate of Universal Music France. In January 2017, he released "Ma cité a craqué" featuring Bakyl. Antoine Valentinelli (born 4 December 1991 in Paris), better known by his stage name Lomepal, is a French rapper and singer from the 13th arrondissement of Paris. He has released five EPs, and three studio albums: ''Flip'', released in June 2017, ''Jeannine'', released in December 2018, both certified double platinum by the SNEP, and ''Mauvais Ordre,'' released in September 2022. Élie Yaffa (; born 9 December 1976), better known under his stage name Booba, is a French rapper.
