Aurélien Cotentin (; born 1 August 1982), better known by his stage name Orelsan, sometimes stylized as OrelSan (), is a French rapper, songwriter, record producer, actor and film director. ''Orelsan et Gringe sont les Casseurs Flowters'' is the debut studio album by Casseurs Flowters, a French hip hop duo consisting of rappers Orelsan and Gringe. ''Le chant des sirènes'' is the second studio album by French rapper Orelsan, released on 26 September 2011 by 3ème Bureau, 7th Magnitude and Wagram Music. In its first week, the album entered the French Albums Chart in third place with 15,529 copies sold in its first week, and is certified double platinum in France. Background After his debut album ''Perdu d'avance'' in 2009, Orelsan said he was "resting on his laurels" and that he had "gone through hard times". The album is called ''Le chant des sirènes'' (French for "the siren's song"), because it is "at an age and in an era where there are many temptations, many addicitions, a lot more than in the time of our grandparents. ''Civilisation'' is the fourth studio album by French rapper Orelsan, released on 19 November 2021 through 7th Magnitude, 3e Bureau and Wagram. The album was largely produced by long-time collaborator Skread and features guest appearances by Gringe and The Neptunes. It marks his first album release in over four years. The album made a record-breaking debut on the French Albums Chart, moving more units than any other album in 2021. Background and reception Prior to its release, Orelsan did not reveal much about the album. According to him, in his mind the record signifies a "deconstruction". ''La fête est finie'' (English: ''The Party is Over'') is the third studio album by French rapper Orelsan, released on 20 October 2017 by 7th Magnitude, 3e Bureau and Wagram Music. It was his first solo album in over six years, having worked on two studio albums with Casseurs Flowters after releasing his second studio album ''Le chant des sirènes'' in September 2011. A re-release of the album with 11 additional tracks, entitled ''La fête est finie - Épilogue'', was released on 15 November 2018. Entering the French Albums Chart (and peaking) at number 1, the album has received generally positive reviews from music critics and was certified platinum in France only one week after its release. Matthieu Le Carpentier (; born on September 22, 1981 in Hérouville-Saint-Clair), known professionally as Skread (), is a French hip hop record producer and composer. He is the co-founder in 2006 of the record label 7th Magnitude, with his partner "Ablaye" Abdoulaye Doucouré, which Orelsan and Gringe are signed to. William Kalubi Mwamba (born 10 May 1992 in Kinshasa), better known by his stage name Damso (), is a Belgian- Congolese rapper, singer, and songwriter. He is popular in France, where all of his albums were certified at least platinum. Early life Kalubi was born in Kinshasa, Zaire (present-day Democratic Republic of the Congo). When he was nine years old, he and his family left the country because of the bloody armed conflict and moved to Belgium.
