Corbicula Fluminalis
''Corbicula fluminalis'' is a species of freshwater clam, an aquatic bivalve mollusk in the family Cyrenidae. This species is distinct from, but often confused with, the rather similar species ''Corbicula fluminea''. Even though both species are native to Asia, they are both present as introduced species An introduced species, alien species, exotic species, adventive species, immigrant species, foreign species, non-indigenous species, or non-native species is a species living outside its native distributional range, but which has arrived ther ... in the United States and Europe, and they are both commonly known as "Asian clams". Discriminating the two species Two species are present in introduced populations, ''C. fluminea'' and ''C. fluminalis''.It is not entirely clear that this is the correct name (Jueg & Zettler, 2004) However, the two species are often confused. The scientific names themselves are also sometimes confused in the literature (e.g. by being called "Cor ...

Wildlife Of Guinea-Bissau
Guinea-Bissau is a West-African country rich in biodiversity. Fauna Mammals Predators There still is much debate about the status of many predator species in Guinea-Bissau. This is, in part, because much of the country remains unstudied, and because of the cryptic nature of many predator species. Lion, for instance, was listed as possibly extinct in Guinea-Bissau during the 2014 assessment of the lion by the IUCN Red list of threatened species. However, a picture of a lion was still recorded by a camera trap in 2016 the southeastern Boé region. * Lion (''Panthera leo'') * Leopard (''Panthera pardus'') *African wild dog (''Lycaon pictus'') *African golden cat (''Caracal aurata'') * Caracal (''Caracal caracal'') *Serval (''Leptailurus serval'') * Spotted hyena *African wildcat Primates * Western chimpanzee (''Pan troglodytes verus'') Herbivores * Red river hog * Warthog Birds *Blue-headed wood-dove * Iris glossy-starling Reptiles *''Bitis rhinoceros'' Marine l ...

Wildlife Of Guinea
The wildlife of Guinea is very diverse due to the wide variety of different habitats. The southern part of the country lies within Guinean Forests of West Africa Biodiversity Hotspot, while the north-east is characterized by dry savanna woodlands. Ecoregions of Guinea are Western Guinean lowland forest, Guinean montane forest, Guinean forest-savanna mosaic, West Sudanian Savanna, and Guinean mangroves. Declining populations of large mammals are restricted to uninhabited distant parts of parks and reserves, because of the inappropriate nature conservation. A noteworthy NGO specialized to nature conservation is the Guinean Parks. Famous strongholds of Guinean wildlife are Pinselly Classified Forest, National Park of Upper Niger, Badiar National Park, Mount Nimba Strict Nature Reserve, Ziama Massif, Bossou Hills Reserve, and Diécké Classified Forest. Wildlife Of Mauritania
Mauritania's wildlife has two main influences as the country lies in two Biogeographic realms, the north sits in the Palearctic which extends south from the Sahara to roughly 19° North and the south in the Afrotropic realms. Additionally Mauritania is important for numerous birds which migrate from the Palearctic to winter there. Faunal regions and habitats Most of the north to about 19° North is regarded as being in the Palearctic, and is largely made up of the Sahara desert and adjacent littoral habitats. South of this is regarded as being in the afrotropical biogeographic realm, which means that species of a predominantly Afotropical distribution dominate the fauna. South of the Sahara is the South Saharan Steppe and Woodlands ecoregion which integrates into the Sahelian Acacia Savanna ecoregion. The southernmost part of the country lies in the West Sudanian Savanna ecoregion. Wetlands are important and the two main protected areas are the Banc d'Arguin National Park which pr ...
