Albacete is a province in the autonomous community of Castile–La Mancha, Spain. It is divided into 87 municipalities. According to the 2011 Spanish Census, the province is the 36th largest by population with inhabitants but is the ninth largest by land area spanning . Each municipality forms part of a province which in turn forms part or the whole of an autonomous community. The organisation of the municipalities is governed by a 2 April 1985 law, completed by the 18 April 1986 royal decree. The Statutes of Autonomy of the various autonomous communities also contain provisions concerning the relations between the municipalities and the autonomous governments. In general, municipalities enjoy a large degree of autonomy in their local affairs: many of the functions of the ''comarcas'' and provinces are municipal powers pooled together. Manchuela or La Manchuela ("lesser La Mancha") is a ''comarca'' located in Castile-La Mancha and Valencian Community, Spain. Historical comarca The historical Manchuela comarca included the municipalities of Tarazona de la Mancha and Villalgordo del Júcar, and the Requena-Utiel comarca which had been part of the Cuenca Province until 1851 and is now part of the province of Valencia, Valencian Community, except for Mira. Almansa () is a Spanish town and municipality in the province of Albacete, part of the autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha. The name "Almansa" stems from the Arabic (al-manṣaf), "half way of the road". The municipality borders with Alicante, Valencia and Murcia. Almansa is famous for its '' Moros y cristianos'' festival from celebrated from 1 to 6 May.
