Zapopan
Zapopan () is a city and municipality located in the Mexican state of Jalisco. Part of the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area, the population of Zapopan city proper makes it the second largest city in the state, very close behind the population of Guadalajara proper. It is best known as being the home of the Virgin of Zapopan, an image of the Virgin Mary which was made in the 16th century. This image has been credited with a number of miracles and has been recognized by popes and even visited by Pope John Paul II. The municipality is also the home of the Centro Cultural Universitario, which contains one of the most important concert venues in Latin America and is the home of the new stadium for the C.D. Guadalajara. The name Zapopan means "among the sapote trees". It derives from the Nahuatl word ''tzapotl'' "sapote" with the addition of the locative suffix ''-pan''. Citizens' Movement (Mexico)
Citizens' Movement ( es, Movimiento Ciudadano) is a political party in Mexico. Dante Delgado Rannauro was its first leader. It was initially known as Convergence for Democracy ( es, Convergencia por la Democracia), but the name was shortened to simply Convergence ( es, Convergencia) in August 2002. In July 2011, it was reformed as the Citizens' Movement. Since the 4th of December 2018, Clemente Castañeda has been the head of the party as part of a new wave of young leaders. Convergence was founded as a "national political grouping" in 1997. Pablo Lemus Navarro
Jesús Pablo Lemus Navarro (born 18 July 1969) is a Mexican politician, businessman and communicator. He was president of the Employers' Confederation of the Mexican Republic (COPARMEX) of Jalisco, general director of Credicampo and, from 2015 to 2021, mayor of Zapopan in Jalisco. From 2021 to 2023, he was municipal president of Guadalajara. He is the governor-elect of Jalisco for the Citizens' Movement (MC) in the 2024 elections. Early life and education Lemus was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, on 18 July 1969, in a family dedicated to the musical instrument trade. He is married to Maye Villa, with whom he has four children. Arturo Zamora Jiménez (born March 30, 1956, in Guadalajara, Jalisco) is a Mexican lawyer and politician affiliated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI). He is running as the PRI candidate to the governorship of Jalisco. Zamora studied law at the Universidad de Guadalajara (UdeG). He has worked as lawyer and notary public in his native Jalisco.
