List Of Mountains In Taiwan
The island of Taiwan has the largest number and density of high mountains in the world. This article summarizes the list of mountains that is under the Republic of China's territorial jurisdiction. There are 268 mountain peaks over above sea level on the island, with Yushan (Jade Mountain – in Chinese) being the tallest mountain in both Taiwan and East Asia. Mountaineering is one of the most popular activities for many Taiwanese. A list of 100 Peaks of Taiwan was created in 1971, which lists the selected one hundred mountain peaks over 3,000 m for mountaineering on the island. Climbing all of the one hundred mountain peaks listed is considered a great challenge for Taiwanese climbers. Hai'an Range
The Coastal Mountain Range, also known as the Hai'an Range (), is a mountain range situated on the eastern coast of the island of Taiwan, and spans the border between Hualien and Taitung Counties. The Coastal Mountain Range is the northern portion of the Luzon Arc but do not present current volcanic activity. Its geology is mainly composed of a Miocene volcanic basement covered by a thick (ca.4-6km) sedimentary pile of deep to shallow marine clastic deposits mostly derived from the adjacent Central Range mountains to the west. The Huadong Valley, the result of the collision of two tectonic plates, is at the west end of the range, and the tallest peak of the range is Xingangshan (新港山), which stands tall. Central Range Point
Central Range Point () is a mountain in Taiwan with an elevation of 3,703 m (12,149 ft). It looks like a triangular pyramid from the north and south sides, being the south side very steep and difficult to climb. The normal climbing route comes from Nanhu Mountain. Its west side path, the normal route continuing south, is also known as the "Death Crest" due to its danger. Tauyuan District
Taoyuan District ( Bunun: Ngani; ) is a mountain indigenous district of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. It is the largest district in Kaohsiung City by area and the least densely populated district in Taiwan. The population is mainly the indigenous Bunun people and Saaroa people. Name The same Pinyin form, Taoyuan District, exists in two different districts in Taiwan: one is in Kaohsiung, the other is in Taoyuan City. Geography It is the district that is most mountainous and most distant from the city center. Mabolasi Mountain
The Mount Mabolasi () is a mountain in Taiwan. The peak is located in Xinyi Township, Nantou County, near the border of Hualien County. It is also known as the Mount Wulameng (). History On 22 September 2015, an AIDC AT-3 of the Republic of China Air Force crashed around the mountain area during routine training flight, killing its two pilots.
