Missouri State University
Missouri State University (MSU or MO State), formerly Southwest Missouri State University, is a public university in Springfield, Missouri. Founded in 1905 as the Fourth District Normal School, it is the state's second largest university by enrollment, with an enrollment of 22,926 in the fall semester of 2021. The school also operates a campus in West Plains, Missouri, offering associate degrees. A bachelor's degree in business is offered at Liaoning Normal University in China. The university also operates a fruit research station in Mountain Grove, Missouri and a Department of Defense and Strategic Studies program in Fairfax, Virginia. History Missouri State University was formed as the Fourth District Normal School, by legislative action on March 17, 1905. Kyle Hiebert
Kyle Anthony Hiebert (born July 30, 1997) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays for Major League Soccer club St. Louis City SC and the Canada national team. Early life Born in Winnipeg, Hiebert grew up in La Salle, Manitoba. He started playing soccer at age 3, beginning playing organized soccer at age eight with Linden Woods CC. He began playing with WSA Winnipeg's youth sides at age 10. In 2012, he was part of a Manitoba-Saskatchewan team that competed in the national all-stars competition in Newfoundland. In his youth, he attempted to trial with the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy, but it did not work out. He was named the 2016 Manitoba Soccer Player of the Year. Norm Siebern
Norman Leroy Siebern (July 26, 1933 – October 30, 2015) was an American professional baseball player and scout. He appeared in 1,406 games over a 12-year career in Major League Baseball as a first baseman and left fielder for the New York Yankees, Kansas City Athletics, Baltimore Orioles, California Angels, San Francisco Giants and Boston Red Sox between and . A two-time World Series champion and four-time American League All-Star, his best season came in with the Athletics, when he hit 25 home runs, had 117 runs batted in and a .308 batting average. John Rheinecker
John Philip Rheinecker (May 29, 1979 – July 18, 2017) was an American professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Texas Rangers. High school years Rheinecker attended Gibault Catholic High School in Waterloo, Illinois, and was a letterman in baseball. He grew up in Hecker, Illinois and first starred at the Hecker Dome. In baseball, as a senior, he batted .438 and as a pitcher, posted a 7-11 record and a 2.49 ERA. College and professional career Prior to playing professional baseball, Rheinecker attended Belleville Area Community College and Southwest Missouri State. He was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in 2001. After signing with the A's, Rheinecker spent the next four seasons in the organization's farm system. Matt Pickens
Matt Pickens (born April 5, 1982) is an American retired soccer player who is currently the goalkeeping coach for Nashville SC in Major League Soccer. Career Youth and amateur Pickens initially attended Meramec Community College before playing college soccer for Missouri State University from 2000 to 2003. He also played for Chicago Fire Premier in the USL Premier Development League. Professional Upon graduating, Pickens was drafted 19th overall in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft by the Fire. He was not able, however, to break through a deep lineup of Fire goalkeepers, which initially included Henry Ring and D.J. Countess, and later Zach Thornton. Curtis Perry
Curtis R. Perry (born September 13, 1948) is an American former professional basketball player. Born in Washington, D.C., he attended Southwest Missouri State University (now known as Missouri State) and played at forward. At Missouri State, Perry helped the team to a school record 28 consecutive wins. Perry was selected by the San Diego Rockets in the third round of the 1970 NBA draft and by the Virginia Squires in the 1970 American Basketball Association Draft. Perry played for the NBA's San Diego / Houston Rockets (1970–71), Milwaukee Bucks (1971–74) and Phoenix Suns (1974–78). In his rookie season with San Diego in 1970–71, he was sent to the Northwest Travellers of the Continental Basketball Association in January 1971 and returned to the Rockets in March. Lance Andrew Parker (born August 19, 1985) is an American soccer player and model. As a model, Parker has appeared on several magazine covers, and in such magazines as '' Men's Health'', '' GQ'', and '' Vogue Hommes''. Early life Parker was born on August 19, 1985, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Susan and Dennis Parker. He attended Putnam City North High School in Oklahoma City, where he was an all-district performer in soccer during his sophomore season. Matt Palmer (baseball)
Jonathan Matthew Palmer (born March 21, 1979) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He bats and throws right-handed. He attended Southwest Missouri State University. Playing career San Francisco Giants Drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 31st round of the 2002 Major League Baseball Draft, Palmer started his professional career strong by having a 1.83 ERA in 2002 with the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes. Palmer spent the 2003 season with the Hagerstown Suns. However, Palmer spent three seasons in Double-A before earning a promotion to Triple-A Fresno in 2006. In 2007, Palmer pitched 150 innings for Fresno, recording an 11-8 record with a 4.32 ERA. On August 14, 2008, Palmer was called up by the Giants. Bill Mueller
William Richard Mueller ( ; born March 17, 1971) is an American former professional baseball third baseman who played in Major League Baseball (MLB). Mueller's MLB playing career was spent with the San Francisco Giants (1996–2000, 2002), Chicago Cubs (2001–2002), Boston Red Sox (2003–2005), and Los Angeles Dodgers (2006). Many of Mueller's accolades came during the 2003 season, when he won the American League batting title and a Silver Slugger Award. A switch hitter, he became the only player in major league history to hit one grand slam from both sides of the plate in the same game on July 29, 2003. Shaun Marcum
Shaun Michal Marcum (born December 14, 1981) is an American former professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Toronto Blue Jays, Milwaukee Brewers, New York Mets, and Cleveland Indians. In 2015, he became the pitching coach for the Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers. He joined the Missouri Southern Lions as their pitching coach in August 2016. Michael Joseph Kickham (born December 12, 1988) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Hagerstown Flying Boxcars of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the San Francisco Giants, Boston Red Sox, and Los Angeles Dodgers. Listed at and , he throws and bats left-handed.
