Stavros Malas
Stavros Malas ( el, Σταύρος Μαλάς; born 10 June 1967) is a Cypriot geneticist, academic and politician who served in the government of Cyprus as health minister from 2011 to 2012. Previously, he was a Special Advisor to the European Commissioner for Health from 2008 to 2009. Malas was appointed to the government of Cyprus as Minister of Health in August 2011. In June 2012, he decided to run as an independent candidate for the 2013 presidential election. In September 2012 he was officially declared as an independent candidate with the backing of AKEL. Niyazi Manyera
Niyazi Manyera (1911–1999) was the first minister of health of the 1960 Republic of Cyprus. Manyera was born 1911 in Famagusta and died on 24 October 1999 in London. After completing his high school studies, he studied medicine in Turkey at the University of Istanbul which he finished in 1939. Manyera was elected as the Mayor of Famagusta in 1948. Apart from the activity in the City Council, he also worked in the executive committee of the education commission of the Turkish-Cypriot schools and in the executive committee of the Cyprus-Turkish Dock Workers' Union. With his many roles in the service of his community, Manyera engaged himself in the social development of the Turkish-Cypriot community. Tassos Papadopoulos
Efstathios "Tassos" Nikolaou Papadopoulos ( el, Ευστάθιος (Τάσσος) Νικολάου Παπαδόπουλος; 7 January 1934 – 12 December 2008) was a Cypriot politician and barrister who served as the fifth president of Cyprus from 2003 to 2008.
