List Of Michelin Starred Restaurants In New York City
This article contains a complete list of Michelin starred restaurants in New York City and Westchester County. The 2006 edition was the first edition of the ''Michelin Guide to New York City'' to be published. It was the first time that Michelin published a ''Red Guide'' for a region outside Europe. In the 2020 edition, the Guide began to include restaurants outside the city's five boroughs, adding Westchester County restaurants to its listing. The 2021 guide was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but finally was released on May 6, 2021. A new award — the green star, for sustainable gastronomy — was given to Blue Hill at Stone Barns, which has two Michelin stars. Dirt Candy is a vegetarian restaurant in the Lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. Chef and owner Amanda Cohen opened the restaurant in a small East Village space in 2008, and moved to its present location in 2015. It has received critical attention for its creative dishes which often focus on a single vegetable. History Amanda Cohen first opened Dirt Candy in Manhattan's East Village, with a small 18-seat space on East 9th Street, in October 2008. The name is based on Cohen's view that vegetables are "candy from the earth". Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fare is a restaurant in New York City with three Michelin stars. It was the first New York City restaurant outside Manhattan to receive 3 Michelin stars. In December 2016, the restaurant was relocated from 200 Schermerhorn Street in Downtown Brooklyn to 431 West 37th Street, in the Hell's Kitchen section of Manhattan. Restaurant César Ramírez opened the original location in Brooklyn next to a grocery store. The establishment seated up to 18 guests around a counter. The restaurant expects guests to refrain from note taking, picture taking, or cell phone use inside. Although it is hard to get reservations at the restaurant, there are regulars. Caviar (also known as caviare; from fa, خاویار, khâvyâr, egg-bearing) is a food consisting of salt-cured roe of the family Acipenseridae. Caviar is considered a delicacy and is eaten as a garnish or a spread.
