William Berrian Vail
William Berrian Vail, (December 19, 1823 – April 10, 1904) was a Canadian businessman and politician. Vail was born in Sussex Vale, New Brunswick, the son of John Cougle Vail and Charlotte Hannah Arnold. In 1850, he married Charlotte Leslie Jones. He represented Digby County in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1867 to 1874. He served in the province's Executive Council as provincial secretary. In 1874, he was elected to the 3rd Canadian Parliament as the Liberal Member of Parliament for Digby. From 1874 to 1878, he was the Minister of Militia and Defence under Alexander Mackenzie. He resigned because of a conflict of interest in the 1877 but returned to parliament in 1882 where he served as an opposition MP until he lost his seat once again in the 1887 general election. Tony Valeri (born August 11, 1957) is a former Canadian politician. Valeri was the Government House Leader in Paul Martin's government from 2004 until 2006. He was narrowly defeated by New Democratic (NDP) candidate Wayne Marston in the 2006 general election held on January 23, 2006. Biography Valeri grew up in Hamilton's north-end in the working class Barton and Sherman neighbourhood, the son of Italian immigrants Enzo and Maria Valeri, who arrived in Hamilton in the early 1950s. He graduated from Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School and then attended McMaster University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics. Prior to his political career, Valeri served as President of Canadian Financial Group Ltd. Kenora is a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 2004. Of the federal electoral districts located in Ontario it is the largest by area, and the smallest by population. Roger Valley
Roger Valley (born January 29, 1957 in Kenora, Ontario) is a Canadian politician. He was a member of the House of Commons of Canada from 2004 to 2008, representing the riding of Kenora for the Liberal Party. Valley worked as a commercial fisherman before entering federal politics. He also served as a city councillor and mayor of Dryden, and was the president of the local provincial Liberal Party riding association for almost ten years. He was elected to parliament in the 2004 federal election, defeating NDP candidate Susan Barclay and Conservative Bill Brown in a close three-way race. John Vallance (March 11, 1883 – May 24, 1963) was a Canadian politician. Vallance was born in Scotland and immigrated to Canada in 1906. He homesteaded in central Saskatchewan in 1907, two years after the province was created, settling ten miles south of Luseland, Saskatchewan. He was elected to the House of Commons of Canada in the 1925 federal election as the Liberal Member of Parliament for South Battleford and was re-elected in 1926 and 1930. Pierre Vincent Valin
Pierre-Vincent Valin (June 1, 1827 – October 2, 1897) was a businessman and political figure in Quebec, Canada. He represented Montmorency in the House of Commons of Canada as a Conservative member from 1878 to 1887. His name also appears as Pierre Valin. He was born in Château-Richer, Lower Canada in 1827, the son of Toussaint Valin, and studied at Quebec. He began working as a shipbuilder in a shipyard on the Saint-Charles River in 1846. In 1853, he set up the shipbuilding company Pierre Valin et Compagnie with two partners; the partnership ended a year later but Valin continued to build ships. He married Marie-Angélique, the daughter of Joseph Talbot, dit Gervais in 1855. Valin was elected to the municipal council of Quebec in 1871.
