The ''M Countdown'' Chart is a record chart on the South Korean Mnet television music program ''M Countdown''. Every week, the show awards the best-performing single on the chart in the country during its live broadcast. In 2020, 33 singles ranked number one on the chart and 25 music acts received first-place trophies. Two songs collected trophies for three weeks and achieved a triple crown: "Wannabe" and "Not Shy", both by Itzy. "2U" is a song by South Korean singer Kang Daniel. It was released on March 24, 2020 by Konnect Entertainment and distributed by Sony Music Korea. The song serves as the lead single from his second EP '' Cyan''. Background and composition The lead single's name is a play on the English meaning "going to you" and the literal Korean pronunciation sounding similar to the word "reason" (). "2U" contains a message to a weary or lonely person running after their dreams: There are those who stay by your side who love you because you are you. Sechs Kies (pronounced as ; ko, 젝스키스) is a first generation South Korean boy band. Making their debut on April 15, 1997, they are one of the first K-pop idol groups, credited with pioneering the idol scene and fandom culture.
