National Media Awards Foundation
The National Media Awards Foundation (NMAF) is a Canadian charity whose mission is to recognize excellence in the content and creation of Canadian magazines and Canadian digital publishing through two annual awards programs: the National Magazine Awards (NMAs) and the Digital Publishing Awards (DPAs). Both events—The National Magazine Awards gala and the Digital Publishing Awards soirée—take place each June in Toronto. Each year the NMAF relies on over 100 volunteer judges to evaluate the entries and award gold and silver winners in the NMA written, visual, integrated and special categories and in the various DPA categories. The Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards (RNG Awards) are one of the awards in India in the field of journalism. Named after Ramnath Goenka, the awards have been held annually since 2006, with the 12th edition being held in 2017. Chameli Devi Jain Award For Outstanding Women Mediapersons
The Chameli Devi Jain Award for Outstanding Women Mediaperson is an Indian journalism award named after Chameli Devi Jain, an Indian independence activist who became the first Jain woman to go to prison during India's independence struggle. The award was instituted in 1980 by The Media Foundation and is given to women in the field of journalism. According to ''Business Standard'', the award is "perhaps India's longest running media award for women". The Media Foundation was founded in 1979 by B. G. Verghese, Lakshmi Chand Jain, Prabhash Joshi, Ajit Bhattacharjea and N. S. Jagannathan. The award was instituted in 1980 by Verghese and the family of Chameli Devi. The criteria for selection include social concern, dedication, courage and compassion in the individual's work. Hong Kong Human Rights Press Awards
The Hong Kong Human Rights Press Awards recognize coverage of issues included in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, as related to Asia. Organization The awards were run by the Foreign Correspondents' Club, Hong Kong, Amnesty International Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Journalists Association. On April 25, 2022, the FCC announced the suspension of the awards citing fears of "unintentionally" violating the city's National Security Law, leading to the resignation of 8 members from the organization's Press Freedom Committee and public criticism. The National Prize for Journalism ( es, Premio Nacional de Periodismo), part of the National Prize of Chile, has been awarded since 1954. It was created by Law 11479 in 1953. It was granted annually until 1972, when Law 17595 changed it to a biennial prize. From 1954 to 1963, it was granted in the categories writing, feature, and photography.
